Day of Jewelry - Need Opinion Please!
I think I found my day of jewelry. It's a necklace and earring set and I found it online for no more than $20.00 for the set.
My aunt seems to think that I should go classic- my gown is Maggie Sottero's Rosemary Leigh in diamond white (pics are in my album). She just wants me to wear like button pearl earrings and a simple pearl necklace. The dress has crystals and seed pearls on it so I agree with the pearls but I want some earrings that hang a bit - not sure on how I am going to have my hair but I don't want to wear earrings that won't show in the pictures.
I attached pics of the jewelry that I was looking at. Would it work with my gown?

Re: Day of Jewelry - Need Opinion Please!
DGoldfarb0776 I think it's pretty. Your dress does have alot of detail but I think this will look nice with it.
If you like it, I say go for it. The necklace that the other poster suggested is also very pretty but it's also pricey. If you could find something similar but cheaper somewhere else it would be nice too.
Honestly, I do not like strand pearls. I think they are too June Cleaver, and I don't think the way they look good on me, too bulky around the neck. I'm fuller figured and to me it just doesn't flatter me. Does that make sense?
Go with something you love and that's in your budget. Good luck!

What about doing the earings with no necklace. The earings are very pretty and nice you have work on your dress, maybe you go with a bare neck ...???

I agree. Since your dress has sleeves and the neckline is medium height, I think showing off your collarbones presents a nice balance of skin vs. fabric. The earrings add a bit of sparkle.

after looking at the pictures of your dress, i agree. with the sleeves, beading, and tiara, i think the jewelry should be super simple-- some kind of solitaire pendant, maybe.

Re: Day of Jewelry - Need Opinion Please!
My dress is Maggie's Rosemary Leigh too. I'm doing a simple diamond pendant and diamond drop earrings. I was actually considering not even wearing a necklace because the dress and my headpiece seem like enough. My sister thinks that I should go for a necklace. I'll see when I try the gown on. Good luck.

I do like the pendant and earrings that was posted a bit better. I think after sleeping on it that something more simpler might be better. Anyone that has any more inexpensive ideas and sugggestions it would be greatly appreciated. I also feel that the simple pearls are more June Cleaver ish and not me at all. I really feel those aren't me but at the same time I feel a bit naked without something around my neck.
Thanks for all the suggestions - this is a big help for me.

I agree that you should go more simple....they always say that after you have your dress, flowers, and veil on if you have too much jewelry you will be lost and look like a chandelier.

Re: Day of Jewelry - Need Opinion Please!
lol I want to shine that day but not like a chandelier...lol
Also the only reason why I am fussing is that I want to be able to try the jewelry with the gown - which is due in any day now

My dress also has a lot of detail on it. I don't plan on wearing a necklace. I'm just wearing earrings and a bracelet.

Re: Day of Jewelry - Need Opinion Please!
yeah, I was told I shouldn't have a necklace either but I felt really uncomfortable, like I was forgetting something.
This is my dress and this is my necklace, I won't have a tiara but I do have hair pins that will be in the back of my hair.
I got the necklace at Macys, it's sterling silver, no beads, crystals or anything.

Re: Day of Jewelry - Need Opinion Please!
Here are a few things from Things Remembered.
This is a locket, it is pretty and also simple. If you have a deceased loved one you could place their picture in it that way they are close to you on your day. Then simple studs would look nice with it. It's $55

Re: Day of Jewelry - Need Opinion Please!
Just so you know, I just went for my fitting and there are NO PEARLS on the dress at all. It's all seed beads.
I recommend wearing a simple pendant - a cross, a heart, or even just a diamond solitaire.
Anything fake like that will look like waaay too much.

it's pretty... but it's too much movement... you need something a little more simple that doesn't keep the eye moving around too much...

Re: Day of Jewelry - Need Opinion Please!
Yes I love that locket!
I can actually put in a picture of my mother and her parents since they are deceased.
I think I have simple earrings for it as well so that would take care of it.
Hmm now that I am thinking about it... you're right there are no pearls on the gown- I think I was thinking of the tiara I am wearing.. idk I guess I had a brain fart...lol It's been so long since I have seen the gown I think I just forgot for a few minutes.
Anyone have any earring ideas? I have a simple bracelet that I can wear already.
You ladies are oodles and oodles of help
