Sunbride's Wedding Review! Milleridge Cottage, Flower MIchele, Jacqueline Nicole, Sir Oliver, Twelfth Night, Wild Rose, Lillettes...and more!

I will add pictures when I get them but I wanted everyone planning their upcoming weddings to benefit from my review of my wedding vendors.

Milleridge Cottage (A+): My experience with the Milleridge was amazing from day one. We worked with Leslie who was amazing! We had ordered a cake from the bakery that we wanted as our wedding cake to try and ended up not being happy. Leslie rushed into action, got us a tasting of a few of their most popular types and we had the most moist and delicious wedding cake – vanilla cake with vanilla custard and strawberries and bananas filled inside…yummy (the wedding cake was one of the few things I got to eat that day). The food was amazing – everyone raved about the cocktail hour, main courses and the Viennese! I wish I could have eaten more but the little that we did eat was soo good and fresh! I cannot tell you how happy we were with them!! The moment we walked in on our wedding day Samir and our bridal attendant were all over us, our families and the bridal parties 110% of the time to make sure we were all taken care of! They are the reason we ate at all – they brought us whatever we wanted from the cocktail hour up to the bridal suite so we could get something in our stomachs before we made our rounds. Overall: amazing experience, even better than I imagined!!!

Lilletes (A+): I worked with Pat – who is a doll – she found my and my mom the perfect dresses!! My seamstress, Laura, was incredible!! She must have re-did my bustle 4 times because she didn’t like the way it had turned out after they did it…such a perfectionist and the final product was amazing!! I can happily report – my bustle did NOT break!

Barrons (A+): I wanted a simple fingertip length veil and that is exactly what they made me. The color matched my dress perfectly and I was very happy with the product! Definitely go there – so much cheaper than the bridal salons and they will make you anything you want!

Thomas Knoell (A+): Their pieces are absolutely beautiful! I went in knowing I did not want anything to big and definitely no tiara. I left with 3 gorgeous hair combs and a crystal bracelet! You know you got some good stuff when people are commenting on your sparkly hair combs and bracelet at the wedding!!! I loved his designs so much! Another wonderful vendor!

Jacqueline Nicole (A+): Jacqueline has to be one of the sweetest vendor I dealt with! she was soo accommodating – especially when it can to trying to schedule a trial with my ridiculous work schedule! I was actually having a tough time when it came to wedding day make-up because I wanted to look natural and like myself. Jacqueline understood from the beginning exactly what I was looking for and made me so happy! I booked her on the spot after my trial!
The day of the wedding she was amazing!! She did me, my mom and my girls – everyone looked amazing!!! I was so happy! We had a mini crisis when one of my bridesmaids was 2 hours late and Jacqueline didn’t sweat it at all and just waited until she got there – that was sooo nice of her!! She wasted her entire morning and afternoon just waiting for my last bridesmaid!! The people around you on the day of your wedding are so important – you don’t want anyone with bad attitudes or stressing you out…this is one make-up vendor you all must use!! Loved her!

Flower Michele (A+): What can I say that hasn’t already been said about John? He is amazing!!! I had the pleasure of meeting with John a few times because I wanted something that had never really been done before for my flowers. He kept working with me until we just nailed the most amazing centerpiece idea and he got my dream bouquet to come to life (lilies!). The day of the wedding he was equally as amazing!! When the flowers arrived I just gasped and was speechless for at least 2 minutes! All of my bouquets were sooo beautiful, so fresh and smelt amazing!! Lilies are such a delicate flower and they all looked perfect! I was SO happy!! We had a tiny situation where my mom’s corsage strap broke – she wanted to wear it on her wrist – so she called the shop and they rushed over a new one within minutes – amazing!!! My centerpieces also had to be tweaked at the last minute because of supply issues but I could not have been happier with my centerpieces – they were gorgeous and everyone was commenting on the flowers and bouquets the entire night! I can’t wait to get my proof back to post pictures!!! Bottom line: John and his crew kicked butt!!!

Twelfth Night (waiting for proofs): I had Dominic and Geraldine. They were both so sweet and were great personalities to have around that day. They took all the pictures we wanted and more! I cannot wait to see my proofs!! I booked them because I had seen my friend’s proofs 3 years ago and I’m sure that I will be just as blown away by my proofs when I get them!

Wild Rose (waiting for video): I had a great experience with Marie and Bill. Our wedding we had Bill and another man (I forget his name). I wanted videographers that stayed in the background and didn’t make themselves known the entire time – that is exactly what they did. They did a wonderful job!! They were capturing everything they needed to without intruding on our day! I will update when I get the video!


Sir Oliver (A+): I booked Sir Oliver because of their reputation on this site. The drivers were on time and the cars were in great condition and very clean. I wish I could remember the names of both drivers because they were both great – but after reading all the reviews on these guys, I don’t think you have to worry about getting a bad one! They were so reliable and very helpful getting me in and out of the church!! Great company!

Schokalad (Mineola, NY) (A+): we booked them to add a chocolate fountain to our Viennese and are so glad we did! everything was set up on time and displayed beautifully! They let us buy all our dipping items to save us some money and they took care of doing all the prep (cutting everything into pieces, putting them on sticks) for us. They were wonderful to work with and very reliable! I want to have them at every party I throw!

Of course, not everything can be perfect on your wedding day….the one vendor that upset us was the band…

Franklin Wayne--Vision (B)– We booked Vision right after we got engaged. We went to one of their showcases and they blew us away! Everything was fine up to the wedding – they agreed to learn songs for us, etc…but then there was the day of the wedding – I had to approach the band members and say hello when I saw them sitting down at the table before the cocktail hour began (even if we never met in person, how hard is it to figure out who the bride and groom are?), then I was told well into the party that one of the female leads would not be coming because she was sick. At that point, what could we do about it? We didn’t want it to ruin our day but we were both really upset. I think that they should have told us about her absence before the party started and gotten us a replacement singer for that night. We paid for and booked them because there were more than one female and male lead…it was upsetting to only have 1 of those leads missing. Also, we chose some songs from their list to play – didn’t hear many of them and my husband and I spent a lot of the night like “what the hell are they playing this for?” – not cool. We spent a huge amount of money on this vendor and had high hopes and ended up not being thrilled. At the end of the day though, we were the only ones that noticed that one person was missing from the band, our guests told us that the bad was really good and that did mean a lot to us. However, we are still upset about the fact that no one from Franklin Wayne has called us after the wedding to apologize for the fact that one of our female leads didn’t show up. I don’t think that is the best way to do business.

Great review date twin. I also had 12th Night. Looking forward to seeing your proofs. So you were the reason Jacqueline Nicole was booked. You were smart, you booked her early.

WOW-THANKS FOR YOUR REVIEW-IM SO SHOCKED ABOUT FRANKLIN WAYNE-I AM USING HEART AND SOUL AND IF THAT happens on my wedding day i will be so upset!! you look forward to something so much and then its so disappointing!! did you call them or get any of your money back? i am also going for an appointment with flower michele-did you find their prices to be reasonable?

I will definitely post pics as soon as I get some! The ones my family and friends have shared with me don't pick up on the vendor details and a lot of them are blurry or dark...don't worry when I get my proofs, I will post

so glad to hear you had a great exprience at the millerige for I am getting Married there next August. I would love to see some pics..did you tale pics ont he grounds or someplace else?
