Couple of big checks off the list! (plus two GREAT ideas/finds for winter/holiday brides
We're up here on the Island for the weekend and we got some big things done today.
Went to our bakery and picked out our cake; went and saw the limo company and I think picked what we're getting (still unsure, but close!); went to Michaels and got supplies for the card box; and finally got some wonderful additions for my BM's gift bags.
For the BM gifts, we went to the Bass Outlet in Bellport (we were just there to go shopping and happened to see these), and found "foot pampering kits." They are clear vinyl and terry cloth bags that have a set of waffle weave slippers, a pumice stone and toe separators for pedicures, and a pot of soothing foot lotion, foot scrub and foot soak crystals in little pots. They came to less than $15 each with my discount card (anyone can sign up for the Bass/VanHeussen/Geoffrey Beene exclusive news card; you get an additional discount every time you use the card). They came in three scents: peppermint, sugar cookie and mulberry. Very cute, and very wintry.
Then at Michaels where I got the hat boxes for the card box, in their dollar bin section, I saw ornament place card holders. They didn't have too many designs but there were at least 3 bins of these things. So if anyone was looking for them, this Michaels (Lake Grove) had them and I bet the others have them now too.
We're hitting up Mens Wearhouse before we leave tomorrow morning to go back to VA but we are getting so much done. I guess it does pay to procrastinate on things...you feel so much more accomplished when you finish things now!

yea date twin! doesn't it feel so good to get things accomplished? we got some major things done this weekend as well ... bought my wedding band, stuffed and stamped invites, and finally found hurricane lamps i like for my centerpieces!
i love that BM gift idea. i might need to take a trip out there to see if i can get those.
did you get to see your dress?

sadly, no, haven't seen it yet. there just wasn't time this weekend and FH was glued to my hip the entire time, so it just didn't work out. I think I'm going to set my first fitting for when I'm home in October for Homecoming at USB. That gives me a few more weeks to slim down! hehe 
that's great that you got all that done! My mother is almost done addressing all of the invitations, so they should be going out in the mail next week!
