I received a notice that one of our gift checks bounced. (UPDATE ON BOTTOM)
I can't knock people cause I've bounced a few checks years ago when I was very unorganized with my finances. (never a gift check though). However, this check came from my cousin that I despise (had to invite him cause of my aunt). If the tables were turned he would definitely let me know. I do realize that that will also get notification, but I'm wondering if I should call and let them know. By the way, my cousin and his wife definitely have the $$. Ladies if this happen to you, would you contact the person who sent the check?

I wouldn't. This cousin has been notified and now it's up to him to do something about it. If he doesn't - then he's just not a nice person. If you call and start trouble - then that puts you in a bad light. Just let it go and see what he does.

Joyce, I had it happen to me. I didnt mention it and I wouldnt. The person felt bad I told then dont worry about it, but I would not mention it to them, they got notified so leave it up to them to do the right thing.

yikes... That totally BITES! I personally would NOT notify the person, ESPECIALLY if you're not on good terms with them. It just makes you the bigger person.

I wouldnt notify them. They will receive notice in the mail, as well. Hopefully they will send you another check!!!!

happened to me too...i didn't say anything...theymust have gottenthe notice, but we still haven't recieved anything back...do you still send a thank you card??ahha

DH wanted me to call my cousin's wife (especially since we aren't that crazy about them) so I did. She said it was an oversite and sent us a new check w/the bounced check fee. The replacement check cleared.
