thank you cards question??

what is the approprate time frame to send these out- i got married oct 20 and as much as i am thankful to all my guests- i dread writing these out - espeacially with the holidays and all. what do you guys think/ have done?

I believe ettiquette states you have 3 months to send them out. If you are dreading them though, wouldn't it be better to get them done sooner? It didn't take as much time as I though it would.

I did ours right away, I sent ours out within a month of the wedding. Do a few at a time. It was not easy but if you let it linger for long, you will not want to do it at all.

I guess it depends on how long it takes the photographer to get the pictures done. We went to a wedding in July and they didn't get theirs back yet.

I sent 85% percent of mine out right at the three month mark. I had put off going to my photographer and picking out the thank you picture. Maybe you can do them right after the holidays so it doesnt arrive when all the holiday cards are arriving. You will still have time.

I know many ppl wait to send theirs out, but I'm a stickler with TY notes. We were married on 10/5, and I didn't want to send out my holiday cards before the TYs, so I wrote ALL of mine this past Sunday and mailed them off yesterday.

edited to add that I did include pics - we used cards that have our photo printed directly on a 4x6 fold-over card.

It was such a huge relief!

Our thank you's are taking 5 weeks to be made!!!!!!!!!! They are 5x5 cards w/ pic on the front. Which I was freaked out about when I found out after wedding, but they're ready now & I'm going to haul *ss on 'em & get them out ASAP because I'm a big Thank you nut too.

I am with the girls who want the TYs OUT! I am waiting for my pics to come in but in the meantime I am writing them out so all I have to do is add the pic, the seal, the stamp and send them out. I didn't want them to fall right with Christmas, but I have no choice--the PO will love me! I am hoping the pics come in within a week and then I will start Christmas cards. Oh the joys of getting married in the fall!!

ME TOO! I want them DONE!!!! But the pics are taking forever..we have not even gotten proofs yet!

This was a huge burden on me too - we had 165 guests plus 8 people who sent gifts but didnt come so I had a lot of thank yous to write - just got them all out today! I did them all myself- no help from hubby. I was a little upset with the picture I chose, I decided to do full length but when i got it back we're kind of squinting (its the standard wallet) and I was freaking about it but it was too late to redo them....i just wanted them out the door. oh well- no one really studies them anyway right?

I just got my ty cards a few weeks ago. We are almost done - I have about 15 left the write. We got married at the end of Sept. and my goal was to have them out by the holidays. I say you definitely have a few months to get them out.

I got married on 11/2 and returned from my HM on 11/14. I have a little over 1/2 done. I am only sending photos to aunts/uncles and close friends and I placed my order already. My Holiday cards go out tomorrow and the non-photo thankyou cards should go out in about a week. The rest will go out as soon as I get the photos. I don't care if they arrive with the holiday cards. I just want them off my to-do list.

I got married in August, and have just about 75% of them done. We just have the close family left to do. It took us a while to get thethank you picture picked out and then returned to us. I can't wait to get them all out!

We had about 200 guest and others that werent coming that sent gifts so I had a bunch to write. I have about less than 10 left to do. Most of them went out two weeks ago. We got married the end of august. I just want to know they are all done!
