Light the Night Walk :o)
No pressure to donate but in case anyone wants to help out....please read:
This past March, my best friends Dad, Joe Martirone, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. The last few months have been a test for her family, and I am happy to say that her dad has been a champ through it all. The Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide walk to raise awareness and funds to cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
I'm participating in the walk in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancer. I ask you to join "Joe's Army in NY" and walk with me at Light the Night in honor of my friends father. These people are the real heroes, and we need your support to help accelerate cures and give hope to patients and their families. Although research is responsible for increasing survival rates for these diseases, the battle is far from over. Did you know that:
Every five minutes, someone in this country is diagnosed with blood cancer: Every ten minutes, someone loses the fight. Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children. Lymphomas are the most common blood cancers. The myeloma survival rate is only 32 percent. Please make a donation to support my participation in the Light The Night Walk. By doing so, we’ll both be helping save lives. Be sure to check my Web site frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
Cancer is so limited. It cannot cripple love.
It cannot shatter hope.
It cannot corrode faith.
It cannot eat away peace.
It cannot destroy confidence.
It cannot kill friendship.
It cannot shut out memories.
It cannot silence courage.
It cannot invade the soul.
It cannot reduce eternal life.
It cannot quench the spirit.
My Teams total thus far is close to $345....I'm hoping to make it to $1,000.....it's always worth a shot
If you'd like to help click here to my personal donation page
If anyone wants to join my team, please FM or click here The walk is Oct. 4 in Eisenhower park and is really suppose to be beautiful......

Re: Light the Night Walk :o)
my coworker and i were thinking of doing this together. my boss' wife had leukemia, although that's not what she passed from. (got a staff infection)
eta: i didnt' know you walk with a group, i thought it was just a bunch of individual people walking. If i don't go with my coworker i will go with my mom and be part of your team.
