Not very good at this registering thing lol...

FH, my mom, FH's mom and I (I love doing everything with our moms ) went to Bed Bath & Beyond to register last night and after going through the whole store and feeling like we registered for about 1,000 items apparantly our grand total was 58 items lol. Maybe it's just that I don't know what the heck half of the stuff in the store is but I've decided that I'm not very good at this

ETA: Also what I think made it seem hard was because FH and I are remodeling the house right after we get married and adding a second level so I was scared to pick out many color scheme items because I don't know what our color schemes are going to be then

Re: Not very good at this registering thing lol...

i did everythign online ( after checking out the important stuff in person )

for us, it was just so much better that way - the website is set up logically and you can pick out what you want and then go to the next thing in the group . . .

i printed this out:
BB&B Registry Checklist
and then went through each item and decided if i wanted it or not, and then checked it off when i picked it out

good luck!

Re: Not very good at this registering thing lol...

I felt the same way with our registry. I know Macys gave us a checklist to go by, not sure if BBB does the same thing, if not make your own. If you don't have a place together, make sure you register for EVERYTHING, even the little things.

Try going to a bigger store. Where did you go? Different BBs carry different items. You can also look online and add from there :)

I went to the BB&B in Babylon...I was going to take a ride to the Westbury store today because he said that's one of the biggest on the island.

Re: Not very good at this registering thing lol...

we just registered this weekend. It was just me and FH. We did half of the BBB stuff on Saturday and half on Sunday. It was nice doing it that way because we didn't have to try and do it all in one shot. It made it easier to concentrate, at least it did for us. lol

We went like 4 times-more like I dragged FH to go that much .. Definitely don't do it in one day-its very overwhelming.

I would really go to the store once and then go home and add/edit it.

Re: Not very good at this registering thing lol...

we went this past weekend to the westbury store and its huge we walked out of there with i think 90 items listed and we havent put on bedding yet ... we aslso registered at macys .... but with the color scheme you can alwasy chose what you think you might want it to be register for that and you have i think up to 2 years or something like that (i know its long) to exchange it (as long it was put on your regisrty) so if you change your mind on colors you can just exchange it!!! ...

are you only registering at bbb? Try to register at a different store also.

Do you live with him already....I was also so confused b/c we both didnt live at home..so we had everything already...when we went to register....we also found we had only about 50 items....

Try looking at other's registries...to get an idea of what to register for also.

I would def. go to the one in Westbury. They are very helpful and the store is much bigger that is where I registered.

Also, just register for the colors you think that you might want and then after you remodel you can always bring it back and exchange it.. That is what FH and I are doing.

Sounds like FH . Also make sure you eat and bring something to drink. We were starving it think it made it worse, plus me dropping a plate on my toe didnt help.

Re: Not very good at this registering thing lol...

lol...that's so funny, this sounds like what happened to us! we registered over the weekend, and i was so excited, and we felt like we were adding so many things...but then when we were done she handed us this little list and we were like huh?! and at dinner my family was asking us what we registered for and we were like...uhhhh...dishes...and some cookware...and we couldn't really think of much else!!

we're not so good at it either...and i thought we'd have so much fun...but i think we stressed it too much!!

hopefully when we go to the other store to register we'll feel a little more experienced and have a better time w it...and same for you....where else are you registering?!

I definately know how you feel, i put white plates down, and i put a couple of white towels, everything else was stainless appliances.

Also i registered for calphalon contemporary stainless but after reading eopinions and seeing the bad reviews i am thinking of switching to all-clad they got 5 stars on all the reviews

we have no idea what color scheme we are doing, but we are hoping within the next month to hire an interior designer and get a color palette going, then we will be able to register for more items

Re: Not very good at this registering thing lol...

now you're making me nervous! FH and I are going to fortunoffs next week to register there and like a week or so later to BBB. We did go looking around at Fortunoffs the other night, just to make sure we saw stuff we liked and liked the same things! (which we did!!)

FH's cousin told me she did one store with her husband and the other with her mom. I hope my FH doesn't get burnt out!! LOL...

Also, is the BBB in Westbury bigger than the one in Huntington? I've never been to the Westbury store, but I know Huntington is bigger than most. I just didn't know which one was better to go to.
