nwr: does anybody know good places to take art classes or cooking classes on li?
hi all! I'm trying to find places where I can take art classes or cooking classes for a reasonable price on weekends or evenings... I'm trying to get myself some hobbies for after the wedding!
Preferably in Eastern Nassau or Western Suffolk, we live in Massapequa.
Any recommendations? Thanks!
(btw, I'm looking for places other than the Art League of Long Island - they're definitely an option, I just want to see what else is out there. Thanks!)

Have you checked out any adult education classes at some local colleges? They tend to have tons of options/schedules... I've found that community colleges also have the greatest selection and they should totally have art classes

I was goin to suggest a community college also. Often they have cooking and art classes that are reasonably priced and don't count for credits. They are called the adult or continuing education classes.

this isn't a cooking class but I took wilton cake decorating courses at michaels. There are 3 levels of classes and it was a lot of fun, I definitely recommend it .

Loaves and Fishes in Garden City offers cooking classes. There is also a cooking school in Lynbrook -- I think its called A La Carte or something like that.
