Yesterday was fun! (sorry, long)
I finally get an email from my cousin (we havent spoken recently and I have called and emailed w/ no response) She tells me in a nutshell she is pissed my sister and I never went up to visit her after her mastectomy. We were under the imoression, she didnt want company. Guess we were wrong. We both called and emailed but she always avoided the subject, so we just figured she didn't want to talk about it. Then last month she got news she will be on meds for 5 years and can't have any kids during that time, later that day I got an email stating she could not read at my wedding. I responded to her email that I did call, inquired thru email, and did try to arrange a ciusons trip up to see her, but was informed she would be visiting other family members, but I was uninvited to this GTG. I explained to her and have not heard from her and if I don't hear am wondering if I shoudl ask if she even wants me to attend her wedding on 9/8. In the same day I call out my stepmom and ask her if she plans on selling the house, I live in the apt. She says yes but I will tell them I can't move til Nov. Really, where am I going in Nov. FH and I asked her several times, once when she moved in and both times she came back from a vaca in FL if she would sell the house this year and she said "No!" Uhm Nov is still this year! So in a nutshell I had a fabulous day yesterday! Just needed to vent

Oh jeez! What a day! So sorry that you are having a hard time with communication with your cousin. I am sure it's not you...she is going thru such a tough time right now. I would still go to her wedding on 9/8. You are still family, and when she realizes that you did make several attempts to reach out to her, she will come around.
As for selling the house in Nov.... I totally know what you are going thru because FH and I were told that his uncle was selling the house that we were living in, one month before our wedding! So, we started scraping our money together and bought a house!! We never thought it would happen this way, but now we have a cute little house that is all our own!! Everything happens for a reason!!

She's got the house on the market, or she's putting it on the market in Nov.? At any rate, the way the market is moving right now, you probably have until next November.

I'm sorry you're going through a rough time.
As for your cousin, it sounds like she herself is going through hell and just doesn't know how to handle it. Definitely be there for her wedding, and keep trying to stay in touch with her. I know it's difficult, but think of what she's going through. My mom's a breast cancer survivor (and my aunt died of breast cancer), and the emotional ride is tough. It's also tough on the loved ones because we can't always deal with their unpredictable (and oftentimes unreasonable) emotional swings.

I know how hard it is to go thru it, we have an aunt who is a survivor. When my aunt had her mastectomy, her and 2 other family members, were like "She'll survive!" Now that it is happening to them they expect everyone to pity them. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, but she makes it hard for us to be there for her. She is known for cutting people out of her life, it's her MO.

She wants to out it on the market at the end of this month and tell the buyer she can't close til nov. I know the market is slow and she will def ask too much for it, but the point is we asked her SEVERAL times if she would do it this year and she said "No" essentially I feel lied to and I don't really need this extra stress.
Also as long as I have lived here, she always said she would offer me the house first. So I always did things to helpout, mow the lawn, clean basement floods, redo my own bathroom, clean gutters, trim the hedges, rake leaves, the things when I'm not around, she pays someone else to do. Now she says she can't sell it to me cause her alcoholic crazy A$$ daughter wants it but can't afford it. So she wants to sell it to a stranger so she doesn't piss her daughter off. It just $uck$ because now my dad is upset and not sleeping. I need to talk to her tonight and get it all straight and laid out. Thanks for all the hugs and well wishes today girls, I really appreciate it!!!
