who has used VIP photographers?

I just want to know how VIP is. I have been hearing some stuff about them and I have an apptmnt with them tomorrow. How are they compared to Patkin?

we met with both vip & patken for our october 2003 wedding. we immediately ruled out patken after meeting with them. i was disappointed with the lack of personal attention- i met with a salesman, not the photographer i would be working with, so i couldn't make a judgement call on personality. he had lots of cheesy sales pitches too. the style of their photographs & albums was not what we were looking for after viewing their sample albums. i felt their prices were reasonable & they offer video as well.

we knew john would be our photographer right away, he is professional but relaxed as well. we hit it off at the first meeting. we felt his photographs were exactly the style we were looking for. few posed shots, many candids. two photographers- one black & white for candids & one color (john). his prices were very reasonable & we're thrilled with our decision!

photography is a very personal decision. many of the girls here have used/will be using patken & are very pleased! its best to meet with them, view their work, and see what fits best for you. let us know what you decide!

I went through this very decision - we were torn between VIP and Patken. We ultimately went with VIP because he offered 2 photographers for the price of one - this was very important to me. Patken was so talented and didn't cost much more, but I really wanted the 2 photographers. I don't know what our proofs will look like, but I will share them with you in 3 weeks!!

I never met with Patken although i had seen an album at a showcase and was going to, but i heard alot of mixed reviews, guess they are a big company and there are always bound to be negative comments but i thought john's prices and style were just perfect for my needs, I cant wait till May!!

I didn't visit Patken either. We chose VIP because of the style of his work and John. John is so easy to work with. We got a great vibe from him on our first meeting and the fact we got to speak with him and not a salesperson made all the difference.

I used John too and had a very good experience. I just posted a few of my pics (see my late Wedding Review post) and John is in one of the pics.
John is affordable and having 2 photographers really is worth it.

Good experience and John is easy to work with and having two photographers and B&W for the price was everything i was looking for.

Thanks guys, I actually booked with John. He seemed really nice and I loved all his work. They were the kinds of pictures I was looking for. I too love the idea of the 2 people and the black and whites. It really seems that he is more interested in the photos coming out well then he is in making money which makes me feel really good about having him.
