My bachelorette party was Sat night ... wait till you hear what happend! :( Long story

After the roller coaster that was friday .... here's what happened Sat. night ...

We were scheduled to have dinner at 8:00 at Mangia e Bevi in the city - 53rd and 9th ave. I was looking forward to this for a month!!! We had a reservation for 13 and checked in early after confirming the res. the night b/f.

If any of you have been there, you know how small it is .... especially by the bar area. Well, we were all there waiting and it was crowded! the 'owner' as he claimed he was, was yelling at us to leave the bar, that we couldn't stand there. Everyone was getting annoyed b/c there was no place to stand & wait & we wanted drinks.

At 8:30 I asked how long it was going to be for a table, that we had an 8:00 res. and we had somewhere to be. First he tried to say that he didn't have our res. but the other idiot said that he found it. Finally, 15 min. later, they were setting up our table.

I come over to check it out and he's putting 12 people around a long table that would comfortably seat 8. I said, NO WAY! We wanted the extra table, which he had, that we couldn't eat that way.

SO ... he tells me 'that's it! I've had it w/you and your friends .... we're not serving you .... you better find someplace else to eat" I flipped !!!

After arguing for a few minutes, I said how this was b***S***!! and tossed my drink onto the table. As I reached for the second glass ... he grabbed someone else's drink ... a vodka/cranberry ... off a table ... and threw it right in my face!!

At this ... I'm stunned ... screaming ... and being helped out by my friends who witnessed it all. He says he'll get the cops & I said ... YOU GET THEM HERE, NOW!! My sister is calling them to report and assault & they show up in minutes! THREE CHEERS FOR MIDTOWN NORTH PRECINT!!!!

When the cops showed up, they went to find him & this goon was hiding in the back of the rest. They were marvelous! Calmed me down, took my name & wrote said that they would file a report for me so I could go out w/ my friends.

Meanwhile I was soaked, I had spent $50 0n a makeup trial & my clothes were stained from the drink! I was trying to hold it together ... my girlfriends were the best! Found a new rest. had a fantastic meal & a great night out at Metro 53. They were fabulous there. Treated us so well!

All's well that ends well, I guess, but we need to get back at him!!! We'll file a claim in small claims ... but I think I need more! How can I get the word out about this horrible ape & what happened? I'd like everyone to know about this!!!

PS ... I'd also like to get the fire marshall in there ... it was such a nightmare, anyone out there w/ those connections?

Oh...my....GOD.

I know that restaurant very well, because I go on business lunches there quite a bit. Very snotty staff...so I can't say I'm surprised but to throw a drink in YOUR FACE?

They just lost my business!

Everyone said that!!! I used to recommend them to everyone .... I'm so disgusted!

On the bright side ... the girls said that my makeup didn't MOVE! Even after a vodka/cranberry ... That's very impressive! Thanks to Lori & her marvelous talents! Anyone need the #? FM me!!

That is an absolutely horrible story! I am sorry this happened to you. That place is very poorly run on Saturday nights. As far as the table, wait and run around, and then giving you a tiny table that happened to me the 2 times I have been there!

I hope you get your resolution and satisfaction.

So sorry this happened to you. I have been to this place and we waited a long time for our table as well. Remember - what goes around comes around. This is a small world and what happened to you will get out and people will stop going there. I have recommended that place to several people -I will be sure to stop that.

First of all, this story is absolutely HORRIBLE! I cannot believe this goon had the nerve to throw a drink at you! I am shocked.

I'd say, tell everyone you know to tell their friends and family and everyone they know NOT to frequent that establishment - that way, by word of mouth, he loses business some how.

Second, MichelleW came to your rescue with the FDNY Complaint form link above. I think you should file a complaint with the fire marshall!

So sorry to hear about this. We were also treated very rudely before at this restaurant when we went for my friend's bachlorette party. We had a reservation and they wouldn't seat us until everyone was there and we waited and waited and when we all got there they had given our table away but they kept saying a table would be ready for us. But we got ****ed off as we saw parties arriving later than us get seated so we ended up going to another restaurant in the area. They are just so rude there. I have not been back there (5 years) and will not ever go back there again or recommend to anyone.

Oh my God! What a horrible thing! You can also go to city search and post a review of the rest. I'm sure they'll take it down, but you never know who might get to see what terrible peopole work there first.

I am so SORRY that happened to you what an A**! I am keeping that name of the restaurant registered in my head and I WILL NEVER give them business and I'll be sure to get the word out! I too have been to that restaurant MANY times, and have recommended it to more friends than I can count. But I have experienced a bit of "tude" from the staff.

Definitely take him to small claims court. You will win

to update you:

Thanks to MichelleW .... I went on the link & printed up a copy of the complaint form. Included was a phone # ... I called and got an inspector on the phone who said that I should follow up with a phone call Fri night. They will send the complaint to the local fire dept. who will send the marshall over on Sat. night. Let's see where that goes. If it's as bad as it was last week ... and that's their regular deal, maybe this will disrupt them a bit.

Then I called the rest. to try to get the name of the manager or owner. Of course they wouldn't tell me the owner's name, but we can run the credit report and get it.

We're going to file a small claims suit for the makeup, hair, & cost of cleaning the clothes. We'll also contact the 'manager' tomorrow .... I do not think that he was in any way an owner of the place.

Keep the word out ... I'm glad if I could give anyone a heads up
