OT: Rental apartments + laundry room = annoyance
Completely OT but I'm so annoyed with some people. We have one laundry room with only two washers and two dryers. The problem with the dang dryers is that if both are running at the same time, the clothes don't get completely dried and it forces you to pump more quarters into it.
I have a crazy amount of laundry to do today ad someone decides to pull the plug on one of the dryers so no one uses it. I tried waiting for them to finish but when I got back down there, it was still going and now another person but a load into the washer. I got all annoyed and just plugged the stupid thing back in so I can finally start drying some of our clothes. Pft. Sorry, just needed to complain.

I hate those types of laundry rooms. The last time I lived in a building with a communal laundry room somebody stole all my underwear. I was there when the washing machine ended, so they opened up the machine while running and took them all. I hope yours at least has the front loaders that lock during use.

Re: OT: Rental apartments + laundry room = annoyance
I've actually stopped using the laundry room in my building because there are 30 apartments and only 3 washers/4 dryers. Its a pain in the a$$ to do it on the weekends because its always busy. Not to mention, I live on the 3rd floor with no elevator while the laundry room is in the basement. I can't keep walking up and down the stairs to see if anyone is using the machines, my knees can't take it.
So once a week, I get DH to drive me to the laundrematt and he carries the heavy bag of laundry inside and when I'm done, he picks me up and carries it back upstairs. I've also found that going to the laundrematt was cheaper because 3 days a week they have free dryers and to use a double load washer was only a quarter cheaper than in my building. I know its not much, but every little bit counts.
