What was the one thing that you were upset about but got over real quick on your wedding day -(Because we had no other choice)?

1. For us it was the car - It kept breaking down, stalling and backfireing the entire way. When we pulled up to the front of the Chateau Briand, our photographer & his assistant were laughing so hard, it was like Chevy Chases Christmas Vacation Movie, yes that bad. The 1933 Packard we were in was back firing and was blowing heavy white smoke everywhere that you couldnt even see us get out of the car. We were laughing so hard I couldnt even breath, wish he would of gotten a photo of that, then we heard a noise, the car actually blew a head gasket and leaked anti freezed all over the front of Chateau Briand, Now mind you we had no air conditioning due to this happening, so I was not a happy camper when I first got in the car considering my hair went flat & it was so humid and hot outside, but the sun was shining on us. . We decided to go with the flow and just laugh our butts off about it, hey its was our wedding day... What else could we do, then we went in for portraits and by the time we had come out about an hour later we had a new car waiting for us, not what we wanted, but a car none the less to get us to the wedding with airconditioning. ..... & We decided not to let it ruin our wedding, as long as the car got us to the church on time, we were thrilled.

P.S. It backfired all the way from the Melville Marriott to Carle Place and kept stalling in the middle of the LIE and on Old Country Road,. so many people in there cars were laughing there Butttt's of off Yeah......

2. ***Our cake was the biggest dissappointment of the night, not anything like we ordered, talk about being devestated, the look we both had when the chateau briand showed it to us was horrific, I dont think we will ever forget that terrible feeling, something that we were so looking forward to having, we paid for a custom cake and expected what we ordered, what we go was something totally different, but what can you do, the wedding must go on......right so we took a deep breath and moved forward past it..................

3. Our Beautiful unique unity candle, it almost burned down our wedding table. Im just assuming that when it was transported from the church to the reception hall and placed on our table as we wanted, someone must of emptied out the liquid wax for transportation reasons but then forgot to re-add it, so at one point I came off the dance floor and was standing in front of my table with some friends I said I smell something burning,they did too, we didnt know what it was, I went to get someone who worked there to tell them and what did I see, my unity candle on fire, I mean a big flame with melted wax all over and it smelled really bad, the unity candle was more then 3/4 melted with wax melted all over the place, the flame was so big it couldnt get blown out by only me, so I grabbed whomever was by me & said blow, nothing got destroyed other then my expensive candle which was to last forever and was given to be by someone special for our engagement. But again it happended so quick, that nobody else noticed.

the table linens.
I ordered table linens for my reception.
My venue accidentally used MY linens on the wedding the night before mine. I was hysterical.

AND, my husband forgot to wear his yarmulke for the ceremony! We didn't realize until afterward.....I was FURIOUS at his brother (BM) and MIL for letting that happen.

When we got to our photo location, ALL of my bridesmaids forgot their bo-k's in the hotel room Thankfully the drive back wasn't that long, but HOW could 9 girls forget their bo-k's!!!!

I would have to say the tent. They had the sides down because supposedly it was windy and I was annoyed because I didn't like how it looked.....but I forgot all about it once the wedding started

My minister was 35 minutes late and that freaked me out big time since that's my biggest pet-peeve. In the end we only started 10 minutes late and it wasn't that big of a deal, but for 35 minutes I was a complete bridezilla.

Our ceremony was at 5pm in June and we wanted to take pics at sunset; this was kinda the whole reason behind us having a late afternoon wedding in June with the ceremony and CH outside on a golf course. We took pics at the CH but the sun was still up when we were done so I told the photographer we wanted to take pics at sunset and he said ok and he'd come get us when it was time. So we're at the reception and having a great time and lo and behold the photographer pulls us aside for more pics and I realized it was already dusk!!!!!!!!!!!! Too late for sunset pics, the moment had passed, I was sooooooo upset!!!!!!!! But I figured the window had closed, there was nothing anybody could do about it, and I was not going to let this ruin our special day so I just smiled and said "oh well" but to this day it still bothers and disappoints me.

Plus I posted on a thread on BHB how the photographer switched DH and the best man's boutinierre's when he pinned them on. I just wanted DH to have a white rose since he was wearing a black vest (that's what he wanted) but the best man ended up with it!!!!

Oh, and my brother was one of our GM and was getting dressed at the RH with DH when he realized he had forgotten his black dress socks and he ended up wearing regular white socks with his tux!!!!! They were all afraid to tell me bc they thought I'd freak, but honestly I found it quite funny!!!!

ETA: Oh yea, and the wind!! It was so windy that day it kept us from lighting our unity candle and MIL's memorial candle during the ceremony. And some of the tulle came off the arch, I kept staring at it!! Again tho, there's nothing anyone could do, I was the one who was insistent on having it outside. We're just glad MIL kept the rain away and we think the wind was just her letting us know that she was there. Then we lit the candles inside at the reception.

The weather because it rained on and off all day and we only got one picture outside of CLM and couldn't have out cocktail hour out there. I have to say though that the day of the wedding it didn't really bother me- I was just so happy to be getting married. It was after the wedding that it started to bother me. I have gorgeous pictures but I keep thinking about how much nicer they would have been if we had taken the formals outside.

the tux place gave my brother the wrong pants... he had black and the rest of the guys were in morning suits, which have pin stripe gray pants.

Also, the photographer missed a few shots, and it was vold as heck so there werent' a lot of otuside shots.

2 things: when we opened up my gown out of the bag i noticed there was a pull in the fabric of my gown in the front, about an inch long that i hadn't noticed after picking up the gown after it was pressed. there was a small thread coming out and no one wanted to cut it for fear of damaging the dress more so my mom did it. it wasnt noticable unless your eyes were right next to it. i was upset because it was obviously damaged by David's (where i bought it) but then i said to myself: #1 there's nothing i can do about it and
#2 its not noticeable. however my mom called the manager of David's in Queens and gave her an earful after the wedding.

The other thing was: my dad's front tooth fell out!!! it fell out 2 days before the wedding and no one wanted to tell me cause they knew i'd flip. i knew it was loose and i kept saying "just a few more days come on!!!". and i even went to dinner with him the day it fell out and i never even noticed ! (he has a long mustache that hid it). so it wasnt real noticeable in person or in the pictures because he didnt smile a big toothy smile lol! i said wow just my luck huh

My photographer was 20 minutes late to the church.
It ended up working out ok though cause he reshot everything he missed from a better angle than what he would have got during the ceremony. Plus he gave us a discount on some extras.

Also 4 days before the wedding I came down with Epstein-Barr. I ran to the doctor who was able to give me some stuff to mask my symptoms. I ended up feeling ok, although I had no voice it wasn't a big deal. I just was worried that I would get DH sick for the HM, thankfully he didn't catch it.
It was really funny though, he kept saying "Don't get me sick for MY wedding"... UM HELLO?! It's my wedding too!

My flowers. They were wrong. Plus my cake didn't have any, but a few to cover the top the florist never did that. Every time I see pictures it makes me upset.

That' I go over quickly? The fact that they sat us at a sweetheart table when I spent a long time working on the seating plan, which had us sitting at a table with friends and relatives. It was hard making up a seating plan, considering we had relatives on both sides who refused to sit at the same table, and I didn't want to insult anyone by not sitting them at a "head" table. The one thing I didn't want was a sweetheart table, I wanted to sit with our guests. And then they introduced us and led us to a sweetheart table with all our stuff on it. What could I do? Everyone was seated already. So I got over it. But, in a way, it was OK because it made us get up and go to each of the other tables to visit.

My bo-k was all wrong. It was still pretty, but not what I wanted. This also happened to 2 of my friends who just got married. Florists, you need to get the bride's bo-k right!

Mine was the limos. They were not what I was contracted for and one of them had a huge dent on the front fender. My cake was not exactly what I ordered but it was still pretty. And it also was cloudy and rained on and off but I was still able to take pics at the arboretum.

The weather. It started to rain right as we were taking outdoor pics. I got SOOOO upset, but then I just let it go when I realized there was nothing I could do about it. I joked about it most of the night after that.

When we were signing our Marriage Certificate when everyboday signed and it was the Reverend's turned.......he signed and then he put the WRONG DATE. Instead of April he wrote March.

Right away, I am like Oh, no it's the wrong date. Tears started welling up in my eyes. I thought it was a sign of bad things to come.

Luckily the Reverend had more copies. SO we All had to sign again.

My sister. Always a disppointment.

She showed up high on drugs, made a scene (or 2.. or 3) and LEFT my wedding during cocktail hour & never came back. My only fricking sibling. We haven't spoken since.

photographer was late and certain pics werent taken that we wanted....didnt care...and proofs are amazing...thats it.....nothing else went wrong at all....it was the best day ever!
