we should have our own sitcom! sorry so long!
ok seriously i could not WAIT to post this bc it is HYSTERICAL even though it wasn't funny when it happened.
My dad told FH and I a million times that he turned off all the water to upstairs so we could work on the bathroom up there. So, I am downstairs finishing up making dinner and I hear the saw, a loud thud then silence - and I just knew something was wrong. I ran to the stairs picturing some kind of bloody accident but instead I see A LOT of water. . . so FH is trying to stay calm and he tells me to "just shut off the valve" - um yeah i have NO IDEA what he is talking about so I am screaming for him to come downstairs and he screaming for me to come upstairs - turns out he sawed through a pipe that wasn't shut off and we had a geyser in attic! So I run downstairs to get my mom out of the shower so FH could go down there and not see her naked.
Run back into the kitchen and there is water streaming through the ceiling like a waterfall - there was even water gushing in the basement!!! SO FH is filling up buckets and tossing them out the attic window. . . i am looking for the valve - and then we switch off - and i have to throw buckets out the window lol - i called his brother, my dad and his dad but no one was really nearby. . . .
finally FH found the valve - shut off the water . . .but we had like 2 inches of water in the kitchen and we had to dry out all the cabinets!!
then poor FH - his dad walks in, followed by his brother, followed by his brother's boss who wanted to see if he could help, followed by my dad and then even his uncle calls to see if we need help - he was sooo embarassed ( we didnt realize it was my dad's fault at the time)
so major crisis averted but his family keeps teasing him about bringing scuba gear for my parents . . . and FH and my dad keep apologizing to eachother every time they run into eachother in the house
while we were cleaning up me and my mom got the giggles so bad - it was just so funny that we just rubbed off OUR bad luck onto FH - i guess its contagious!!

well remember that nonna lived upstairs? she passed away oct 2005  - so my parents offered the upstairs to us. . .we are redoing it and saving for a year or two (until babies come) and living rent free until we can buy a house

oh wow i knew she lived with you i jsut had NO clue where sh lived.. i assumed in the basement neve rknew there was an apartment upstairs... im sorry about your nonna though.. she really was sweet even though we never spoke (you kno how bad my italian was.. lol)

well so far only my parents know about it and they saw how bad he felt

LMAO!!! thats hysterical im sure it wasnt funny when it happened.. thank god it wasnt me and FH... i have the tendency to get the giggles at all the wrong times.. i would have been laughing so hard and it would have made FH madder... i hope he can look back and laugh now.
