Re: bigger girls....
why not have similar gowns, all in the same fabric, but with interchangable tops and bottoms, so they can all chose items that suit them best? A lot of designers are doing that these days....
It's really hard to find something that looks great on large and skinny girls, tall and short girls, and large chested, and small chested girls....

Re: bigger girls....
I think an a-line dress could be a good option for you since they're pretty universally flattering.

Re: bigger girls....
Most of my girls are bigger too and my dresses look great on them, the halter thins out and so does the a-line with a cinched waist. I told them they can wear a shawl if they feel self conscience about their arms.

Re: bigger girls....
I don't have any pictures, but as a "bigger" girl myself (size 14, 38DD chest) let me give you a few ideas.
first, you might want to try separates--David's Bridal and I think Alfred Angelo have them. If not, try picking out two different but similar dresses in the same color, or a couple of dresses from the same maker in the same color. Just be careful that they're all in the same fabric, or they might not really be the same color. What do bigger girls like to wear? Well, we like to wear bras. So tops with straps wide enough and a back high enough to hide the bra. Strapless? No. It's not terribly flattering unless the girl invests in a really good bustier, and they're not cheap--they're already spending for the BM dress. Halters? No. I've seen people say that they're good for bigger women, but they're not really. I haven't been able to wear a halter and not look like a prostitute since I was a teenager. Obviously, nothing too tight, and definitely no mermaid or trumpet skirts! On the other hand, things that skim the body are better than sacks. I can't download pictures right now, but try Watters 9390, 7112, 7256, Alfred Angelo 6645--I really like that portrait collar. 6122. Forever Yours 77109, 77116, 74201.
Good luck!
