Everytime I look at my proofs..

Everytime I look at my proofs I get anxiety. I probably shouldn't, but I thought I would share what I have been going through. My wedding was in August and it the most perfect day for me. Everything was amazing, I didn't have a care in the world. I felt beautiful every time I looked in the mirror and every event of the day went above and beyond my expectations. Needless to say I still rave about the wedding.

At this point all I have in physical form are my wedding proofs (which I see as flawed). Every time I look at them I get severe anxiety, so you would think that would make me put them away. No, instead I stare at them all the time. It stinks because it takes away from how amazing my day was and how great I felt. The reason why I go crazy is because 1. In every picture I see how badly the alterations were done around my waist. I had no clue until I got my proofs that my upper dress was practically falling over my waist 2. I hate how my hair looks in the pictures (It may be the poses of the pics, not my hair style). I think it may be more the poses because the day of I loved my hair. 3. 99% of the portraits of me alone or of me and my husband are posed horribly. The day of I thought the photog. knew my best angle and posed me in it. I was wrong. So, in the end, I know there is nothing I can do, as long as the days events were amazing is all that counts, but I just can't get over my anxiety over my pics. The only thing that makes me feel better is to fantasize about getting my dress realtered, picking a different hairstyle and having a day after shoot with a normal traditional photographer that is recommended on this site.

awww.. You are being too hard on yourself. The pics of you in your album are beautiful. You looked so pretty & happy. We are always our worst critic. What does DH say abou this?

I think you look beautiful-but I am not the bride in your photos. We are always very critical of ourselves and of course how we look in pictures. If you are that unhappy-I would get a day after shoot-if you can't afford it-I would see if the photographer could set up a payment plan.

I think you look beauiful too and I see nothing wrong with your dress.
You will always try to find the worst in your own pictures

I think your pics look beautiful! I always over analyze pics also. But in the end I always say they were good. Put them away for awhle and then come back to them. You might just need to take a beark and look at them differently.

I really don't see that bad of a shot in what you had shown. Maybe you are being over critical of yourself? I know I am thats why me and FH have maybe 20 pics of us in five years that I am willing to show people but even then I cringe.

The only sudgestion I can give you is if you want and you have the money do another photo shoot just of FH and you just so you can be happy with those pics. Get all dressed up again ..do you hair how you would like now. I wouldn't go nuts and do the dress over and getting it fixed but you can hide the parts you dislike.

IMHO, I think your pictures in your album are great! You look happy and it looked like you and DH had a beautiful day, and your pictures really show that!

I just checked out your pics and they are great! You look lovely and sooooo happy! I'm very sory you are unhappy with them. Could you maybe do another shoot with your FH just for the hell of it? It maybe fun to get all dressed up on your anniversary or something and get new shots...just a thought

Your pics look GREAT! What I notice in myself at times is, the more I come on here is the more I seem to criticize my own stuff from my wedding although in the end I LOVE how everything turned out and have no complaints...HUGS!

While you will get people saying that your pics look lovely, what is ultimately important is that YOU are happy. If you're having that type of anxiety with your proofs, I do suggest having a "Day After" Shoot. I know KittytheStray had hers and tshe is happy and the pics look awesome.

Best of luck to you and try putting them away for now.

Thanks for all of the kind words. I truly was so happy the day of my wedding, but after I got my proofs my happiness became anxiety. I really appreciate all your comments. It definitely does help. Thanks so much.

Ok,so the firs thing I did was check to see if you had pictures in your profile and then I was shocked to see that it was you!! I remember looking at your pictures and thinking wow, I love her hair and dress! You were a beautiful bride!!!!!! We are our own worst critics sometimes.

I think everyone on here is right...we tend to be so critical of ourselves sometimes... you have nothing to worry about!!! You looked great and you look great in your pics!!

I looked at your pictures almost immediatly after you posted they were up! I looked at them again and tried to see what your seeing and I just can't! I still love them!

i just looked at your pics
you hair looks great a lot better then mine
that i had to take it out after i took my veil off lmaoo and i had to do it my self which by then it looked like a mess llolol

your dress i really cant see anything wrong with it but i know you know you see it and it bothers you ....

Maybe, I have low self-esteem or something. Are you sure you're really upset about the photos and the dress, and not more the letdown of the wedding being over? I just looked at the pictures you had posted, and your dress looks beautiful, your hair is pretty--and the main thing: you look incredibly happy! And you sound incredibly happy in your review. If your wedding day was that great, why be bothered now? No one, not even you, noticed at the time that there was an issue with your dress, and I'm sure everyone thought your hair was beautiful. Your wedding day was real life, not a photo shoot. Your hair gets mussed, your dress may get rumpled. The important parts are the expressions of joy on the faces of the people in the photos.

And if it still bothers you, do a bridal shoot where you can control everything--your hair, have your dress fixed, etc.
