Attended a wedding at North Ritz Club this weekend

I have recently seen a lot of posts about the North Ritz Club on this board. I attended a wedding reception there this weekend, so I thought I would post about my experience.
The grounds were very nice. The wedding was on Friday night and the weather was nice so guests were able to go outside for the cocktail hour. You can still see a small bit of Jericho Turnpike from the patio, but the pond, gazebo, flowers and trees make up most of the view.
The food at the cocktail hour was plentiful and very tasty, as was the actual dinner. We were offered a choice of salmon, chicken or beef. I had the chicken and FH had the beef. We both thought the food was very good and there was A LOT of it.
Overall, we had a very nice time at the reception. The only small issue that we encountered was the valet parking. I think the couple had four valet parkers and around 200 guests. As guests continued to arrive, the valets became overwhelemed and cars began backing up onto Jericho Turnpike. So my advice would be to ensure that there are enough valets for the number of guests expected to attend.

This is good to hear! I'm having my wedding there next year. Since they are relatively new, I haven't encountered anyone who has been to a wedding there, or who has already had their wedding there. How was the waitstaff? Was there enough? So glad to hear the food was good and there was a lot. Did the bride have the cake made by the hall? How was that if she did? Thanks for your help!

I am also so happy that the wedding was nice there. I don't know anyone who went to a wedding there either.

blushingbride - The waitstaff was very attentive and the food was served quickly. I have been to events where it seems that one side of the room is already finishing dinner while the other side is just being served. Not so at this wedding.
The bride did order her cake through the hall. It was a pretty simple, three-tier cake decorated with fresh flowers. Very elegant. The cake was served with a strawberry and ice cream (FH particularly liked the ice cream).
Each table was also presented with a small dessert tray containing cookies, cream puffs, and chocolate covered strawberries . Truthfully though, by the time dessert came around I was pretty full

I am glad to hear the good remarks about NRC. I agree about the valet parking. My fiance and i drove past once and the cars were backed up onto the turnpike. I wonder if they will hire more people if a bride wants it. I have never heard anything bad about NRC. I am hoping it stays like that for a while because I have two years to go!

Yeah...you are the first pereson who I heard went to a wedding there. I am getting married there in October of this year.

Thanks for the tip about the valet parking. I had plans on adding staff to run drinks but never thought about the parking.

Missmmpr, they will definitely add staff if you ask for a fee of course. I plan on adding 2 more to the waitstaff. The original number they had told us seemed low to my mom (who is in the catering hall business) so we may add 2 more servers to help out and run drinks.
