I'm feeling depressed today

It's Christmas Eve and I'm feeling so down.

PJ and I had dinner with our friends last night who we only see a scant few times each year since we are upstate.

Seems like everyone's life is going great- they are planning babies, buying houses, live close to their family, go on an insane amount of vacations every year, make more $$$, etc

I love my hubby to death but I told him last night I regret every decision we have made so far- moving away, my career as a teacher, paying rent instead of saving for a house. Thankfully, he's great andf just listened and didnt get upset.

I'm so trying to look on the positive side but I'm an insanely jealous person and feel like I'm working so hard for nothing.I've been with PJ 9 years in Feb. and sometimes it just feels like we're stuck and will never get out Life just seems so unfair right now and I feel even worse that I don't feel happy for any of my friends

i know how u feel. we were going to go to vegas. but we're putting it off for now. the money we would spend on vegas,we could put it towards a house. dh said it will be worth it in the long run. the most important thing is that u have each other

Thanks Gail! Deep down inside I know that all I've ever wanted was PJ as my husband...but life sometimes gets in the way and makes you believe you need all that other stuff.

Now I'm just upset that PJ's aunt made a beautiful needlepoint for his grandmother with all her grandchildren's names on it except for me...its just hurts that I'm not technically considered family

Maybe in the morning , ill feel better

the holidays can bring that out is all of us.
unrealised goals, and dreams but.
Jen, from my ' little' exp with life, the things we go thru can be hard, but in the end, the things that REALLY matter are our health, life & the one we love. As cliche as that may sound, i have found it to be the truth over & over again. I have had many set backs in life, but just kept on plowing thru. There are still things in life dh & i are hoping for, but not sure if it will come to be. so, we are content that we see another sunrise & rest peacefully at night. sorry if this seems like a rant,
but i do know you are a great person and want to to know i do have empathy for you & understand, what you are saying and just want to to know..in the end.... its ALL OK..

Hi Jen, Merry Christmas to you and your PJ.

Sorry you are having a tough day. I know it can be hard. I am in the same boat when it comes to TTC. My friends have all been able to get pregnant easily, while we have been struggling for a year. It seems like what they have is so basic and simple, why can't I have the same thing?

BUT, I do know that I have a LOT more than most people do. I married my BEST FRIEND and the best person I have ever known. I wake up every day happy to see the person at my side and knowing that my life is worth living because we are in love. While I wish some things could be easier for us, I know that I wouldn't trade my life or the person I am with for anything. There are a LOT of people who would kill to be in our shoes. That's what you have to remember.

And, about teaching... I wanted to become a teacher and was talked out of it. It is the only decision in my life that I truly regret. I am envious of YOU.

Thank youall for you honest responses and emotions.

Believe it or not, the only thing that got me outr of my funk was actually .....MY MOM!!!!

She totally suprised me this morning with 2 beautiful, thoughtful, meaningful gifts!!!!

It made me realize that family, well the ones who love you anyway, will always be the most important part of the holidays and our lives.

Also, of couse, friends like you ladies who are always here to help and offer
