Where did you meet your FH?? (I love these kind of stories!!)

Long story short...we met at Chelsea Street, but he was a friend of my friend. I talked to him for about 15 minutes, excused myself to go to the ladies room and when I came back, he was gone...the nerve! ( I found out later he had to be at work in an hour)
About 6 weeks later, (after I had started dating someone else), went out with the same friend one night and bumped into Dan and his friends. I was supposed to meet up with my new guy later, when my friend says to Dan, lets all leave and go somewhere else. I was like wait, I have other plans, but nobody was listening to me. So I made an excuse to the other guy and we went to another bar. I ended up talking to Dan for hours and I knew that I had found the right guy. And we lived happily ever after (lol!)

I met John on AOL! I was dating Phil (a NYC firefighter) at the time. I wasn't looking to meet someone else but I met the man I was going to marry and didn't even know it. I wasn't even attracted to him at first.........!!

I met John at a bar in Gramercy...Bull's Head Tavern...

I was really hung over from the night before (I got blown off by a guy I had met 2 weeks before, so my friend and I went out)...but had to go b/c my childhood friend came up from Atlanta.

All I wanted to do was sit down...John and I argue over who sat down next to who first, but as soon as I sat down some guy tried to put his arm around me...making a joke...it was John...

Ray and I used to work together. I used to work in a lobby of a large building so it wasn't unusal for employees to stop and talk to me. He would come to my desk and hang out with me all the time. Eventually I asked him if he wanted to go to lunch and the rest is history...

When I was 14 a friend said "lets go to this party at this boys house"little did i know i was walking into the house of my future husband!!! we became friends, best friends we both had significant others through the whole time. he was bestfriends with my boyfriend and i was good friends with his girlfriend, then 6 years ago we went out for drinks and just to hang out.. and we relized we have been missing out on a great relationship.. from that day on we have been together!!! its so great knowing that I have known my DH for so long.. and I have been able to see all my new nephews and nieces grow up, ive been part of the family for so long, now i just share there last name!!!

I was 17 working in a supermarket with a bunch of kids from my highschool and the neighboring highschool. I had just broken up with some guy and was randomly dating. My FH was working at the same supermarket, he had a girlfriend at the time. But we kept talking and before l knew he asked me out. I went out thinking nothing of it, and well, I have never dated anyone since. We have been together almost 8 years now!

My FH & I were set up on a blind date on New Years Eve. Neither one of us wanted to go that night but our friends convinced us. It was a small party at his friends house and everyone ended up fighting that night, so me & my FH spent the whole night talking. At the end of the night he asked for my number, called me up, asked me out, I was like yeah why not...6 years later he finally propose

I had placed an personal on AOL thinking noone would answer it. One day I got an email from Don and we had alot in common. We talked online for about a month before we met in person. At the end of our date, I knew that he was someone special. Three years later, were getting married.

My FH and I went to college together, but did know each other. He was actually my "lust man", but he had a girlfriend the whole time he was there. Well, we both ended up going to an alumni weekend four years out of college and finally met. I guess my instincts were right from the beginning!

My FI and I met through my best friend at the time. She ended up giving him my phone #, thank God he called or we wouldn't be here right now. We talked on the phone for 3 months before we met. I mean 6-8 hours a day. Everytime we tried to meet, something would happen that we couldn't get to each other. (Since we were only 15, neither one of us drove, and our parents wouldn't drive us to see each other. We lived about 15 minutes from each other by driving.) What's really neat is that we knew we loved each other before we met. One night on the phone, there was something we both wanted to say to one another, so we both said it at the same time, and it was "I Love You!" I know we were only 15, but the feeling was amazing. So, when we finally met, we went to Great Adventure together on a tour, and the whole bus ride home all we did was kiss!!! Ever since then, we've been inseperable. We've never broken up in 9 years! Our wedding date will also be our 9 year anniversary. I'm so happy!!! Oh, what else is funny, is that we found out that we were in the same class at some point and only a couple of seats in front of each other. We never went to the same school while we dated though. My family moved a lot, and we just moved out of the school that he was going to. Anyway, I know this was a boring story, but, It's really amazing to be with someone for this long. We know each other so well! When I think about things that we did over these last 8.5 years, it's amazing. We've experienced just about everything together from age 15-24. Now I think if you can make it through those tough years, we can make it through anything! Good luck to everyone!

Jamie was always hanging around one of my classes senior year in high school. One day he followed me down the hall asking if I was free that afternoon. I had a pretty busy schedule at the time, I didn't want him to think I was blowing him off, but it took a week or so for us to finally get together. We hung out a few times, and I thought he was really nice, always bringing me flowers, opening doors and stuff like that. We had our senior bankquet (a less formal prom) in June and as we were dancing he said to me "2 yrs from now we're gonna get engaged and 2 yrs from then I'm gonna marry you." I thought he was on crack! I only knew him for 2 mths. I just said "yeah right, whatever." Long story short- 6 years later we're finally planning our wedding, and I couldn't be happier. He's the perfect match for me. But I keep reminding him that he's 4 years off schedule.

I have a story similar to Bride02. I met Jay when I was 15. He was the best friend of my high school boyfriend. He had a girlfriend at the time so the four of us would hang out alot, go away together, all that stuff. Anyway, I broke up with my boyfriend 3 years later and lost touch with Jay and his girlfriend. Fast forward nine years later, Jay and I bumped into each other walking to work in Midtown Manhattan. We were both like wow, how have you been, let's get together... Four months later we were engaged!

I met my FH in Argentina. I went there to visit some family for 2 weeks. He was my cousins friend and I had met him before on previous trips. Nothing ever happened because I always had a serious boyfriend here in NY. Well, this trip was different because I had broken up with my boyfriend of 6 years and I was single. My intention was not to meet anyone, it was to relax and get my mind off thngs. We hit it off great and 3 months later he left his family and friends to move here to be with me!

I dated my FH's good friend for 3 years while we were in college (FH did not go to college there), so technically I met my FH when I was 21 through my ex when we would go home for the holidays. About a year after I broke up with my ex, I went to a bar crawl in the city, and I'm so short I couldn't get thru the crowd. All of a sudden I felt a hand drag me thru the crowd, and I looked at the guy and said "Oh, thank you - you saved me out there". We both did a double take, realized we knew each other, talked the rest of the night, went out on a date the next week - and 6 years later we are getting married. Now he can always "save me" through tough situations!!

P.S. - My ex and him are no longer friends. heehee

Two of my friends from high school were in FL for two weeks staying at one of their grandmothers condos. I met them out one night at a club...I had seen a guy I knew from my gym so I was hanging out with him and one of my friends met Roland . Roland wound up giving us all a ride back to the condo and the next morning I couldn't find my purse. We searched the condo about a million times and I had my friend leave a message for Roland to see if it was in his car. When he called back I answered the phone and we wound up talking for a bit. I kept telling my friend what a nice guy he was, but she just said he wasn't her type. After Roland went through his car about three times he still couldn't find my purse but he said he would call the bar we were at and the parking garage to see if it had been turned in. I thought that was very sweet to do for a girl who barely spoke to him the night before...my friend wound up finding my purse behind a hamper and when we went out the next night I called Roland to see if he wanted to meet us out again. Good thing he did! I kept asking my friend if she liked him and she told me to go for it because he was not her type....so I did and we've been togher ever since.

I first met my FH at work. We are both teachers and at the time (3 years ago) I was working in my building as a tutor (part time teacher) and really wanted a classroom postion. There was a postion available at the end of the school year (4th grade) and I interviewed for it (along with my FH and others). Well, I got very nervous during the interview since it was my collegues interviewing me and I messed up BIG time. Needless to say, I didn't get the job and my FH did. I saw him a few days later going through his class files for the next year and asked another teacher who he was and she told me "the new 4th gr. teacher". I vowed from that moment that I would NEVER, EVER talk to him!

Well, a few weeks later, I was interviewed for the postion I have now (special ed. kindergarten teacher) and got it. I had been dating someone else all this time and it started going bad. I broke up with my ex that April and was distraught (but I only told my close friends at work). Another teacher told me she would go with me to happy hour to cheer me up, but ended up backing out. I was upset that our plans got cancelled, but she just said, "Oh, I bet Ari will go with you" and he looked up and said "OK". Well, we got 2 other people to go with us. There they found out I was no longer with my ex and (I swear this happened, but Ari denies this) Ari moved his seat closer to me after he found out. The other 2 teachers left and Ari and I continued talking and having drinks for a long time. We then decided to go down to the beach to watch the sunset and then have dinner. We have been inserperable since!

I met Dave in the 1st grade. We lived a block away from one another. He moved away in 2nd grade.

We met again in 9th grade at Holy Trinity and we realized that we used to live really close to one another. Every year, we had classes together. We started dating a week after high school graduation, 6/27/94 and have been together ever since.

My FH was my boss (scandalous, I know). His business was having financial problems and was going to have to close the business down. He told everyone on a friday that this was the last day (it had to be done that way for legal reasons). He asked me to come back on Monday and help tie up some loose ends, and I did. When Monday came, I told him that I was going to need to leave at a decent time because I was doing something in the evening. He said that he would really need me to stay, but he would make it up to me. I asked how, and he said he would take me to Atlantic City. So that night we went and we have been together every day since then. We got engaged 8 months from the day of our first date.

I was in my last semester at SUNY Cortland when I met my FH. I was sitting with some girlfriends and some guys walked in. One of them looked at me, put his hand on his heart, smiled and waved. None of us knew who he was. I thought it was strange. A little while later I was at the bar and the same guy came up to me and said (truth, I swear) "what do I have to do or say to get you to go to Hawaii with me for a weekend." I thought I was going to gag. I was looking for an out and couldn't find one. This guy asked how old we were (one of my firends was with me). Just to be glib I said 18. He was obviously into that and very excitedly said "really?" He was 28!! I told him we were really 21. It was still early so the bar was pretty empty. I was looking around trying to find an excuse to get away, but my stupid friend kept talking to him. When he asked us were were from I told him LI. From behind me one of this guy's friends asked where on LI. I turned around and there was my escape. My wonderful FH and I started to talk about LI (I'm from Centereach and he is from Huntington). He and his friend had graduated two years earlier and had come up for almuni weekend.

Almost six years later we are engaged and every once in a while I like to remind Mark (the guy I was trying to excape) what an idiot he was that night!

A week before my older sister's Bachelorette party my girls and i went to Zachary's. As we pulled into the parking lot my friend said..."THIS IS WHERE ALL THE GIRLS MEET THEIR HUSBANDS" I just laughed it off and said yeah right. a week later we went for the Bachelorette party...We hit Escapes then the club. As were all were walking into the club i see my FH and all of his friends walking into the club too. We exchanged a few words and laughs and then went in. About an hour later we met up again in the middle of the dance floor and danced for a while. We started talking and that is all we did for the rest of the night...All of my friends thought we already knew each other because of the way we just clicked that night. And the funny thing was I almost didn't make it out because I had the flu that whole week before. I guess my friend was right...that is the place girls meet their husbands!!! And we are still dancin'.

Peter and I met through our friends. His best friend from elementary school and my best friend from elementary school were dating (now married) and my friend Annie had this guy she wanted me to meet. I met up with all of their friends and she really wanted me to go out with this guy Matt-whom I really wasn't attracted to. Peter was there and didn't pay much attention to me. The quieter the guy-the more I'm attracted. So I wished for
Peter in a fountain - no joke!! 3 days later I got my wish and we've been together for 9 years.

You won't believe this one, but I was actually dating my FI's co-worker Chris casually and that is how we met. I was going to the movies with Chris one night and it turns out that Chris's co-workers (incl. my fiance) were at the same movie. So we all went for drinks afterwards and I spent the whole night talking to my FI! After drinks I thought that I had to set my FI up with one of my girlfriends b/c he was perfect! Well after a couple of weeks I broke it off with Chris since it wasn't a good match and since we stayed friends, I still saw my FI every now and then. One night we were all supposed to meet up, but Chris didn't show and long story short my FI and I started dating and now we're getting married!

Friends of ours, who are married now, arranged to go out as a group one night. Their plan was to introduce FH and I. I didn't want to go because I had just gotten back from studying abroad my entire summer in France and I was dragged to hang out my first Thursday back. Funny thing he didn't want to go either! Once my friend and I went inside the club I saw him from across the dance floor and new he was the person I was supposed to meet and just new deep down inside something would happen between us. We didn't speak till after the club closed but we did outside for 3 hours. We hung out at his house that same night and here we are now! The best part is that we didn't have to get introduced by our friends because the attraction and chemistry was already there.

A real great story to tell our grandkids...

We met in college..I was 19..we hooked up...didn't get together b/c of multiple reasons, but a few months later found each other again and we have been together 8 years now. After we hooked up the first time I told a friend that I knew we would be together (she thought I was psycho) but we ended up meeting again.....and we haven't been apart since!
