just my dad - thats how I always pictured it and my mom wanted it to be just me and Dad.

It was hysterical - he clearly wasn't paying attention at the rehersal. We got the the end of the aisle and he's like "what do I do now?" He was supposed to shake Al's hand, give me a kiss and put my hand in Al's. It was an amusing moment and I wouldn't have changed a second of it!

My parents are divorced. Dad walked me half way. Mom met us and walked me the other half. It was very emotional.

My Mom! Although if my father was alive, I'd love to have them both walk me down - I think it's nice to have both parents.....

Same situation here. If my father was still alive, I would have them both. I was first considering my mother and brother, but my brother is in our bridal party with his wife (and his son is our ring bearer), so I decided to have just my mom.

Like Teri and Marnles, I would have had both parents, if mom was still here. So, my dad is walking me, I hope he shows up on time and does the right thing!

My oldest brother is walking me down, meeting my mother at the end of the isle.

Mom and Dad
They divorced when I was 6, and I'm much closer to my mom. My dad will wait on the other side of the doors, and my mom and I will walk in together. We will meet him a few steps up.

Both my parents passed away so I will probably have my oldest Brother. Though I'm closer to another brother I feel I couldn't take that away from the oldest brother.

I have the exact situation as Irish Tracy!!!
I am much closer to the younger of my two brothers. I am having both of them walk me so no one feels bad.

Although my father will be at the wedding, we are not close and he was not there for me growing up. My grandfather will walk me down the aisle.

IrishTracy and debbus, I am in the same boat, both my mom and dad passed away, I am having my sister walk me and is also my MOH and brother in law walk me down the aisle. My mom passed away 8 1/2 years ago (53) and dad passed almost a year ago(60). Are you finding things to be very emotional while planning? I spent today crying, because with all the planning and still trying to take care of my dads affairs and fathers day tomorrow, I am a mess. A lot of people my age (almost 31) still have at least one parent alive, it really ***** to go thru this without them at such a special time in my life. Any suggestions? I am putting there wedding pic in my bouquet that way they are still going down the aisle with me, I have to say that FH is very supportive.

It will be me and my dad. That is the way I always envisioned it. My mom will be waiting for him at the end of the aisle.

Susanlynn- I TOTALLY understand! I cry at least 3 times a day. MY Father is gone 8 yrs ago(58) & my Mother 4 yrs ago (61). I feel selfish sometimes (like this is how it affecting me) but it unfortunatley a part of life. My FH totally understand his Father passed away 2 yrs ago. We just feel that they are looking down on us & watching everything (well not everything ) I'm wearing my Mother's engagement ring on a chain around my neck. I also have a locket with their wedding photo that I will pin to the inside of my dress. If you need to talk you can always talk to me! Take Care!!

I just came home from a surprise 50th and they played Daddys girl and she danced with her dad, i sat there in tears, Except I have gotten so good with hiding the crying in public, no one knew. I can highly relate. We were engaged on Christmas 2000 and my father passed away *highly* unexpected 3 days later. Although I know he was happy for us (first time my father ever showed happiness for anyone (girl) in my family gettting married....) I feel so empty as my day approaches.

I do have my mom still, but tragically my grandmother (mom's mom) just passed away. It is so difficult to see my mom deal with this.

I will have my oldest brother walk me down the isle, and my other 2 walk my mom down.

I am also having Mom walk me as my dad passed away 9 years ago (41). It is hard for me to go to weddings where the bride dances with daddy. I usually end up in hysterics. I will be dancing with my grandpa.
