I NEED SOMEONE TO BOOK MY CATERING HALL FOR APRIL 15,2007!!THE WEDDING IS OFF!!!
I had to call off my wedding on April 15,2007 .I will have to pay 75% if they can't re-book. I can't give too much info,I don't want to cause trouble for catering hall--they are actually great but if you need that date or know someone who does please contact me. I t was guaranteed for 175 but room holds more. They were charging $90 a plate. The food there is EXCELLENT! The place is IMMACULATE, the syle of the place a matter of taste. I had to call it off because my fiancee was abusive. I made a decision to save my life and now I'm getting screwed for it!!! PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks guys and good luck to you all!!!!

Wow, thanks a lot guys for all the support. Someone on the site advised me to go hard on the caterers. If another attempt doesn't work, if they are going to be so heartless, I will be releasing their name for sure. I just figured if someone is looking for that particular date, I would try to let them know confidentially....

I'm sorry this is happening to you...but know you made the right decision. I don't have a booking for you, but I was wondering where your hall is. If it's in Suffolk County they have to refund everything but $100 as long as you give them at least 6 months notice. I wish you the best of luck. Just remember, the money is nothing compared to your life.

If your hall is in Suffolk, then they have some kind of law against taking all your money. Look into it.
If you can't get someone to fill your date, you should still have the reception and make it a fundraiser for abused women or something like that and at least you have a tax write off!!! Don't let them make you pay and not get anything for it!

like so many other posts here... i can not take the date (already married)
but i'd like to take a moment to tell you that no matter how much money you might be out... you did the right thing.
i speak from experience, my first marriage was abusive. i cried on my wedding day that i didn't want to go through with it. my mom told me that i HAD to, even if it meant that i would be divorced in three months.
let me just say, they were the scariest and longest three months of my life.
i thank god that you were able to get out now. your life is worth so much more than the money you might have to spend.
