Finally going today to order BM dresses......UPDATE(Long but a good read) WITH RANT!!!!

the bridesmaid dresses!!!

All the pieces are def. falling into place now!!


Update:

So what was suppose to be a very productive day- tunrned out to be a dissapointing day with a bridal salon that I THOUGHT highly of!!!

So allllll along I have be raving about Valentina's Bridal in Brooklyn- about their sevice and how nice Valentina and her staff were.

I first went to Valentina's in May or June- can't remember but I had found my dress but didn't purchase until August. I said that I would order my girls dresses their because for the longest I have heard that had free alterations(which was the selling point for me) and also give $10 off the the prices of the Bm dresses.

So now yesterday, I bring all my girls down to the shop to FINALLY order their dress- under the fact that I have been TOLD countless times that their were FREE ALTERATIONS and that they would alos get $10 off!!!

Now my girls are ready to order their dresses and the salesgirl that I have been working with tells me that there is no longer FREE ALTERATIONS and that the girls are going to have to pay an additional $25 on a dress that is already $250!!!!!

So I am like this is NOT what I have been told countless times and THIS is the reason why I chose to order my dresses their!! I EVEN spoke to Valentina herself Thursday for a price and she NEVER said anything about this!!!

Talking about feeling embarrassed in front of my girls!!!
I told the sales girl to call Valentina over and she went on to say oh she has been paying her seamstresses overtime out of her pocket and the poilicy changed in JULY!!! Can I tell u that up until I ordered MY dress in August I was still getting the Bm dress pricing as before.

IMO... IF you a good business owener you would not just change that policy on old customers- but you would make it for any NEW customers comming in.

Needless to say because she didn't want to honor what I was previously told and by her NOT even offering a discount for the 14+dresses that I WAS going to order and the fact that I had already purchase my dress there- I took my buisness someplace else!!! It shows alot when an owner of a business would let a potential client who was about to order 3k plus worth of BMs dresses walk out the door!!!!!

ETA: I got a BETTER DEAl someplace else in LI ::sticking my tounge out: at Valentina's bridal!!

Wow I just called them last night and RK Bridal beat them by $50 for the same BM dress.

THats stinks-though I have had bad experiences at some places that I have read raves about on here. Glad that you found a place that would give you a discount!

Cee I agree with you 100% they should have honored the price since that is what they were quoting you from before and the you bought your dress from there as well. But o well their loss

Good for you girl! I don't understand why business owners would do that. Especially lose good business. Because word of mouth sells.

I am very happy that you found another store to buy your BM dresses.

Walking away from that, the lesson to take from it is, when ever you find a deal of any sort ask to have it written in a contract. Nothing legal or crazy just something that holds that price and discount so that when you came back she would have no choice but to honor it. But thats her loss, you scored BIG!
