Westbury Manor Brides, I did my menu ...

It is so funny because when you haven't been to the WM in so long and then you go and are reminded of how beautiful it really is, you start to get excited all over again! We finally saw the new rug and it was beautiful. The grounds look gorgeous and I'm sooooo excited. One month from yesterday! Yippeee!

Anyway, Rob and I met with Alexanderia and at first, I thought that she was very cold. I was turned off, but as we were working on the menu, she started to warm up to us. In the end, she was very accomodating and helped us out with our menu selections and gave us some recommendations that we didn't think of - so we were very happy when we left. We added two additions to the cocktail hour as well.

The only thing I have not decided on was the cake -when I went in there, I thought I was going to get the cake that they give us - no buts. But of course, she showed us the upgrades and I saw one that would fit perfectly with my pastel color theme - but it's an additional $500, which stinks. My FH thinks I'm crazy and doesn't understand the need for an upgraded cake but he says I can do whatever I want. I need to decide soon, but I wanted to take a couple of days to think about. I may take a ride to the bakery they use!

Did they give you a tasting or did you just go on their word? Just wondering.

No tasting, just on their word, and then hope for the best!

Hi! I'm getting married oct. 20th there also. Don't you just love the new carpet? My FH and I asked them if we could come in and see it (I knew they wouldn't do something ugly, but I just wanted to see what they did).

I can't wait to do my menu. Is Alexandrea the only one who does the menus? Was it difficult to choose what you wanted? My family and I had dinner there for christmas eve and loved it! We each tried a different entre so we could sample as much as we could. It is going to be a difficult choice because everything was fantastic!

Thank you for sharing!

PS- Who are you using for a florist? Did you go with any of their recommendations?

We are using pedestals.

Just wondering!

Kelly,
Yeah, I'm so excited about the new carpet, the grounds, everything about the day. Alexanderia is the only one you can finalize the menu with but she warmed up - she's okay, don't worry. We are changing one thing though, me and the FH talked about yesterday and decided to make one change. Plus the ice sculpture - you know I didn't even think to look at pictures and when she asked us which one we wanted, we drew a blank. So, I have to clarify that. And the cake, I decided to stick with the basic basket-weave cake, which is gorgeous anyway. I didn't need to spend the extra money. I met with my florist, Spitz and Peck (one of theirs) and he helped me with the cake decision - I think they will decorate it so nicely.
I'm 4 weeks from today - I'm so excited and nervous, mostly about the weather - but that is in God's hands.

Let me know if you want to know anything else! And yes, I loved the new carpet - FH and I were very very pleased!
