Venetian Yacht Club - VYC - Food tasting!~

Hey gals, just wanted to let you know the details of our food tasting on Friday!

It was AWESOME! We had the Sea bass, Filet Mignon & a chicken dish...UGH, I can't remember the exact name of it, but it was stuffed with spinach, cheese & sundried tomatoes...I must say it was the most delicious piece of chicken I have ever eaten, not dry and extremely flavorful! (I have the menu at home if you wanted to know) YUM YUM, I am certainly choosing that as one of my entrees for our menu. We also had some apps. Piggy's in blankets, crab cakes, filet wrapped in pastry, scallops wrapped in bacon, chicken on skewers, shrimp wrapped in a wonton sort of pastry & I think one other thing...All were delicious!

We went upstairs to see the room all decorated for the wedding that was there that night, it was beautiful, candles in all the windows, tables set beautifully...he also took us through the downstairs room of their CH. Showed us all the set up, it looked GREAT! The smaller room on the side was also open for people to enjoy the room.

As for the renovations, the place looks GREAT! They have replaced the outside railing, installed a glass in the outside area and they are awaiting a few more chandeliers throughout the place. Bill said that he hopes to have pictures on the website within 15 days or so, just awaiting final approval. I could kill myself for forgetting my camera! UGH

All in all, I am SUPER EXCITED!! I love the place and Bill is such a pleasure to work with! I am so excited and proud to have our reception there!

Thanks, I am meeting with Bill tonight to go over contract and leaving deposit. So thanks for the info and I will bring my camera. What color are the linens? We are having CH in the small room which I am not happy with, but its only 1hr.

Linens are between a white and an ivory...so they go with either theme.

Our CH is only 1 hour too....hmmm... perhaps you have having a small wedding and it will look too empty in the larger room?

I want the reception on the 1st floor roomm because of the balcony access, but the tiny room for CH, but I will talk to him today about maybe having CH upstairs

You can maybe ask him to have it in the other room (if they don't have another party booked)...maybe that is why you are in that room...

Even so, I think that room hasthe best view!

Does everyone get a tasting who books there? I never thought to ask about it. Do I just call Bill and ask him when I can schedule mine? Thanks!

i heard u can do a tasting while theres a party going on- you sit in one of the rooms downstairs b4 cocktail hour. usually u can do it after u book the hall.

Am I the only person working with Giulio? I haven't heard anyone else working with him (he's a doll BTW). So far it seems everyone is working with Bill or Daisy (I haven't seen or met either of them).
