news at work today (NWR)
So they just told us that they are merging two divisions of the company - the one I am in with another.... they it will take 4-6 weeks to find out what will happen as they reorganize things... I hope I don't lose my job!

You'll be okay no matter what! Did they happen to tell you why the merger was happening or which division was taking the lead? I'm asking because if your division is being absorbed into another or if it's absorbing another, that could tell you which side the layoffs (IF they happen) could come from. If it's truly a combining of two divisions into one, and if they company is soundly structured, they will probably do their best to make sure everyone has a place in the new structure. I've done corporate re-orgs before so I'm just curious about how it was presented to everyone.
