It's a great idea, but I don't know how happy I would be opening up power drills at my shower

Re: Home Depot Registry

FH wants to. I was talking about our other registries the other day and he wants to go online before my shower and "edit" them of items he feels are unnecessary and register at Home Depot instead.

Re: Home Depot Registry

Good Idea if you own a home as yourself, and have a man who does the work for you. But we don't own a home as of yet, so the idea is not for us at this time. I'm sure when we do, thats what I'LL ask for.

Re: Home Depot Registry

I DID!!! I like tools a lot and thought it would be a great idea b/c every new homeowner needs certain things for the minor home repairs, and whatnot.

The sales lady was funny and asked why there were no doubles, "No his and hers tools?" And I said "No, there hers tools and his can borrow them"

It realy isnt a bad idea.. if ya thibk about it , when u paint , you go to home depot to buy the pain ( well i do) when u have to do anythibg , like buy a new sink, bathroom vanity , all that stuff, weather u own a home or not, the things they have come in handy , & it doesnt completly leave out fh in the shower,,

I happen to like the idea.. Most men do as well

Re: Home Depot Registry

Its a matter of taste and personal preference....I am still going to register for my usual macys dinnerware, nambe, sheets towels, etc.......

But we just bought a townhome. For example....the manufacturer's cheap brass chandelier in the dining room, or cheap light plate covers....would be nice to replace. Given....we could do these all on our own, but in the past month and a half we have spent well over, well I'm not even gonna say...at Lowe's and home depot. I mean 200 for a new nice sealing, fan, thirty dollar plate covers, new countertops...all these things most certainly add up.

No I am not excited for tools.............but anything to improve my house, the thing I live in on a daily basis....the one investment that whatever I put in to it...will appreciate it that much more ten fold...I'm excited about.

For our e party...when family asked what to give us...we just said gift certificates to home depot....because right now...thats where all our money is going!!

Re: Home Depot Registry

A HD registry is a great idea...we may do this!!! We bought our house two months ago, and like Nina said you live there!! We are just finishing a major renovation...our kitchen is almost complete! We got a lot of HD gift cards as housewarming gifts and when you have a house they are the best gifts you can ever get!!!

Right?

You know we were researching, talking with our neighbors, realtor(who is also a friend) whatever upgrade you put in there....for example....I don't know...just throwing a number out there....you put 3500 in your kitchen upgrades, you increase your value buy like 10-15. That is a huge payback!! Well worth it to me.

And my mikasa will be doing no appreciating, but again not gonna lie, still want it, still gonna register for it.........Just want to make my house nicer!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Home Depot Registry

You make your house a home w/nice dishes, accessories but you will sell it and make money off of it with new light fixtures, new kitchen, etc.

We've been told that in two months, we have already increased the value of our house by 20-30K.......

I would love HD and BBB gift cards so you can buy nice, pretty, fun things but then go to HD and buy things that will help out your house.

Well said... We just bought a huge shed, 13x13 to put in our yard, Its really cute, & we are in the process of puttin a roof on it, & then painting it. This shed will store all the e party things as well as any things else that needs storing.... All of this came from home depot.. Its not just for screwdrivers & nails that place !!!! Matter of fact my whole kitchen is from there. Thomasville cabinets & floors..

So its kinda a good thing I guess for home owners, maybe not so for people who dont own yet , but still they have great things.. And what man dont like home depot,, !!!!

I'm a home depot finatic. I am there all the time, however I already own every tool imaginable, but FI wanted to register there just so he can get his own tools. We'll see as the day gets closer.
