Re: HELP! okay.... wasn't done writing... What do you put on a reception card??

Half past four in the afternoon (evening is after 6pm)

You can write "Formal Adult Reception to be held at"

The Reception Time is when the cocktail hour starts.

HTH!!

Re: HELP! okay.... wasn't done writing... What do you put on a reception card??

All I put on mine was:

Reception to follow
at half past six in the evening
Location
Address

You could also do something like

Cocktail Hour and Dinner Reception
at half past whatever
Location
Address

I would say that you could go either way afternoon/evening with 4, it's kind of that in between time.

And if you want to write formal attire, you could too, it's really all up to you.

Re: HELP! What do you think of this for reception card?

I don't think you need to put PM or Evening... It does say SUNSET - not SUNRISE...

I think it sound very elegant. Sunset cocktail hour.

Man... I wish I could have a sunset cocktail hour on the beach...

Okay... I think it will be lovely no matter what... but I have to tell you this line gave me the giggles. I'm all thinking ADULT reception, eh? ADULT MOVIES, ADULT MAGAZINES... ADULT COCKtails...

thank you! The other girls were responding to an earlier question before I edited with the word "Sunset", which I really like. You're right... it really makes it sound elegant. I'm very excited... hopefully the weather cooperates!!!

I wouldn't be surprised if people brought the kids anyway or don't come -some people are VERY touchy about that unfortunately - I have seen it happen

Re: HELP! What do you think of this for reception card?

Sorry but I think it's considered bad etiquette to write 'adult' on the invite... It should be addressed to the people (adults) specifically. Pass it through word of mouth that it's adults only - tell BP, family, friends to pass it along. Sorry!!!

we have to ... we had issues in the past with family members who INSISTED on bringing their kids to my brother's wedding even though his invitation said "Adult Reception". We ended up not speaking to those family members for 6 years!! They wouldn't take "no" for an answer and ended up boycotting my brother's wedding because they weren't allowed to bring their 1 and 3 year olds. My bridal shower on Sunday was the first event they've come to since my brother's wedding! So, for my wedding, I want to make sure it's clear that there are no kids invited.

Plus, I think it's a choice, but I've never seen anywhere that it's "bad etiquette".

Instead of putting "adult" reception on my invites, i'm putting "X number of seats have been reserved in your honour" on the RSVP cards

That's a good one, too!

I also saw for the RSVP card

____ of _2_ guests will be attending

____ Regretfully, we will not be able to attend

I don't know what to do!!!
