NWR - Anyone Know A Good Cosmetic Dentist
I think I want to get a veneer for one of my teeth. It's not that bad really but it bothers me - especially in pics I feel like it's all I see. I'd prefer someone in Suffolk. TIA!!

OMG!!!! I JUST GOT MY VENEERS "INSTALLED" YESTERDAY!!!!!! I got six done, top front. I researched it A LOT - I had FOUR consultations. Don't get Lumineers -they're much cheaper BUT they look fake on and they are so thin that your tooth color shows through. FM me if you want any more details or more pictures. You really can't see how crooked my teeth were in this "before" picture. The pictures REALLY don't do it justice, they are SO AMAZING in person. He did SUCH an amazing job!! Everyone who knows I did it says they look totally natural. It's in Port Jefferson - Dr. Martino, (631) 473-0582 - 714 Main St, Port Jefferson. I honestly don't have any great pictures here at my office but you can see my teeth are whiter (especially that ONE that you can see was REALLY discolored) and straighter:

In this 'after' shot that slightly darker tooth is one of the ones I didn't do - If I had done 8 that one would have been done (I ran out of money!  ) In 'straight' front pictures you can't even see the other teeth.

I had a consultation with him & he quoted me OVER DOUBLE what other's quoted me and he was VERY pretentious & conceited and I felt he was "looking down" on me. You have to go sit with his ‘concierge’ first and she asks you all sorts of questions and then she takes you in to see him and she reads back your answers, like, why doesn’t he just ask me himself! Then he took polaroids of my face and of my teeth, it was weird. They made me feel bad that I didn’t have the money THEY were charging – like I said they were MORE than DOUBLE what ALL the other’s quoted me! To be honest the WHOLE experience at his office REALLY upset me! All they kept telling me is “We’re the best, we’re the best”. My girlfriend is an Oral Surgeon’s assistant & she said his work is good, but there are other’s who are just as good, then she recommended Dr. Martino because that’s where she takes her kids.

It's actually not that easy... The veneers do go over your teeth but the dentist does have to grind your teeth down a TINY bit and then the veneers go over your teeth - the veneers wrap over the bottom and sides a bit. They totally numb you but it still stunk having to get the navacaine shots, but it was SO WORTH IT!! The veneers can be made any shape and size you want and any shade of white you want. So if you want bigger teeth you can get them biggger. I DID NOT want SUPER WHITE because I thought it would look too fake, I also didn't want bigger teeth, I just wanted straight teeth. I probably shouldn't have posted those pics because they're really not doing them justice! If anyone is seriously interested I can give you the names of all the consultatins I had and the prices. Lumineers are MUCH cheaper but a little research will tell you that you probably dont' want to use them...

kara, they look amazing. my teeth have that weird flouride discoloration going on (they are stained super white in spots) and i was telling DH last night about you and how one day i mgiht do it. they bother me.

DR. MARTINO IS PORT JEFFERSON IS THE BEST AROUND. HE IS A WONDERFUL DENTIST AND JUST A NICE MAN. I HAVE BEEN GOING TO HIM SINCE I WAS A CHILD. PLUS, MY MOTHER WORKS FOR HIM!
