Mother-of-the-Bride Dress

Does anyone know of any specialty dress / bridal stores that carry mother-of-the-bride dresses? I would prefer Nassau. Thanks!

Thanks for your info!!!

I showed up about 10 minutes befor my 2pm appointment. I found the alterations department in the rear of the dressing room area. There were two woman there the day I came in and she asked me if I needed any help putting my gown on. I said no. Reason being that I have to put it on all by myself on my wedding day. So that was a real trick in itself. The woman who fitted me was named Maria, she was very nice. The whole fitting took all of 15/20 minutes tops. She told me to leave the garment bag (that I bought when I got my gown from them) and she asked me when I wanted to pick the finished gown back up. I picked the date myself. She said that there is no charge for storing your gown there but I will have my gown all ready about 5 weeks before my wedding date. (I made the appointment about 12 weeks in advance)

Mother-of-the-Bride Dress

Estelle's Dressy Dresses on Rt 110 in Farmingdale has a nice selection, and there's another place right around the corner from there (west on Conklin Ave...not quite a mile). Worth a shot to look...

Good Luck!

Jill,

Did you look in Macy's or JC Pennys? They had a nice selection and were pretty reasonable. Thought I might add that sugestion if you get out to Rosevelt Field Mall ever.

I went to Macy's to look for my dress, but I didn't realize they also had mother-of-the-bride dresses.

Thank you everyone for all the suggestions. Now that the stress of my dress is over, I need to worry about my mom.

I'll tell you guys how it turns out.

dina's is a very nice shop and as you said jamelle a little pricey but the quality is there & you won't see yourself coming and going.

That's a great idea. My only concern is cost. Is it much more to have 2 crews??

If you are looking for Nassau, Bridal Reflections has an boutique that only does mother of the brides dresses. They are really beautiful. They have alot of designer stuff and they offer service, so the prices are not cheap. You definately won't see your self coming and going. (thats what happens if you get it at a department store) Good luck!!

I agree with Karen, just don't do it. I personally don't think you should HAVE to do anything you don't want to at your wedding, just because it's tradition. ;-)
