How involved is your FH's best man in regards to all the wedding planning/day of?
My FH's has 2 best men.. One is his brother who is 19 (and still very immature) and his other is his best friend who he grew up with & now lives in Vegas.
They both do NOTHING in terms of all the wedding planning. What exactly does the best men supposed to do? ? My MOH threw me a shower & has been with me every step of the way during this whole wedding planning process. His best men are no where to be found. His brother cant be bothered (afterall.. he has a life  and the other one lives 4000 miles away)
Is this normal?
My question is... What did your FH/DH best men do for your weddings? How much were they involved?

BM hasn't done anything for the wedding...but I honestly didn't know he was supposed to? He did help organize the bachelor party, does that count?

our BM is doing the whole bachelor party...he actually stalked some guests for us to find out if they were coming (who didn't respond). I am very happy with those 2 things! Do those count?

he did practically nothing. he sort of planned the bachelor party, but only after I got involved and my brother called him several times about it.
he was a major disappointment, which really made DH sad, but didn't suprise me in the slightest. then he didn't even give us a card at the wedding, or write a speech - just made up something on the spot that lasted about 15 seconds. nice.

Our Best Man organized the Bachelor party, he handled passing out all the tip envelopes the day of, held the rings, made a speech, drove us to the hotel after the reception-he's a great guy. Whatever we asked for help on he was willing to do-DH was his BM and I think he basically did the same for him.

MIke's brother (the Best Man) does absolutely NOTHING either! HIs best friend (who in my opinion should have been the Best Man) does EVERYTHING for him...he just threw him a 5K Bachelor party at the Bryant Park Hotel, and his brother just sat there like a mope ALL NIGHT!

We had 2 best men, both of DH’s brothers. As far as planning goes, they planned the Bachelor Party. But other than that I can’t see what else they would do. I don’t think Best man (or groomsmen for that matter) have much to do as far as the wedding planning goes.
I’m kinda confused as to what you excpect them to do? Is there something specific that you need done and they have not done??

FH's brother, the BM, has done nothing, but go with us to get measured for tuxedos. That's about it. Oh and he teases me and says I'm bridezilla. He's too wrapped up in his life to get involved.

He went with Dh and groomsman to get tuxes...
Not much else for him to do

nope./.. ours didn't do much but plan the bachelor party and write a speech...
they really don't have to do much.... guys have it so much easier than the girls!

My FH has two BM as well. One lives here in NY, the other in NC. The one in NC has already been measured for his tux, the one in NY mentioned last week that he "needs to get on it".
The one in NY is planning an AC bachelor party, but contrary to my express wishes is planning it for the weekend immediately before the wedding instead of two weeks before the wedding. He also can't stand my brother, and refuses to call him and invite him to the bachelor party. One of FH's GM is doing that.

the Best Man's only job is to plan the Bachelor Party, think about it most of us are lucky if our FH helps us with any planning, you want another man to do something for a wedding thats not his own
seriously they have no responsibilities but the BP and to hand the rings over at the ceremony, oh yeah and the toast at the reception

My DH's best man organized the bachelor party, but that's it...What else are they expected to do?
Oh, he also handed out checks and tips the day of the wedding so we wouldn't have to do it. I guess that counts, right?

The main thing he's done is plan the bachelor party. He's been very helpful answering some questions we've had since he got married at the end of last year.
