Already married girls...are you getting the "when are you having babies" question too?!?!?!
Ok, we've officially been married 32 days now and I feel like everyone is asking me when we're having a baby! For years all I heard was "When are you getting engaged?", then when we got engaged all I heard was "did you book a date?". Now all I hear is baby this and baby that! Does it ever end????
(My mom walked thru the kids section of Target the other day and was making sighing noises!!! Help!!!!)

Re: Already married girls...are you getting the "when are you having babies" question too?!?!?!
We will be married a year in about a week and a half and for the first few months I heard A LOT of that! People just get excited, for what may come next! It's calmed down a little bit (maybe since we just bought a house), but we still get that once in a while. I'm sure after living in our new home for a while, the question will come up more once people think we are "settled"!

Re: Already married girls...are you getting the "when are you having babies" question too?!?!?!
i think that is soo annoying and rude.. im not even married yet and im asked that..
(but moms are like that - making a sigh or even buying things - my mom has been buying cute baby things in 3s (my brother and sister and i) for our kids - SHE IS NUTS
i might tell someone off soon - im just sensitive b/c it isnt sooooo easy for people to get pregnant these days and others are just not aware of that...
soo - if you are in the same midset as me (sensitive and about to blow-up) - maybe tell those people to stop asking - ITS RUDE.. what if - god forbid - you were trying and couldnt get or keep a baby..
sorry - i have too many close to me having trouble.
GOOD LUCK when you do try.. enjoy being a wife!

Re: Already married girls...are you getting the "when are you having babies" question too?!?!?!
At our rehearsal dinner, the night before the wedding, DH's old school Italian grandmother says to me, "next year, you have the baby!" I said, no, we are waiting a while. She said, "No, you have the baby!"

The questions have halted since my health declined. I basically told everyone that even the doctor said no babies now. You win some, you lose some.

people ask me all the time. we haven't even been married 2 years. it's rude and annoying. People ask my MIL WITH ME STANDING THERE. It's old school, rude, and intrusive. Humph!

Re: Already married girls...are you getting the "when are you having babies" question too?!?!?!
We get it a lot from family. In my family we haven't had a baby in five years, so people are really really looking foward to it (when it happens)
And my friends want me to have a baby b/c they are all either planning on getting preggo soon or are or have little kids.
The worst is DH"s sister though. She has a 10 month old and she wants to have another one, but she wants to be pregnant at the same time as me (b/c she had to be engaged and married at the same time as us too!) so she keeps asking when we will get pregnant so she can!

Re: Already married girls...are you getting the "when are you having babies" question too?!?!?!
The day after the wedding, my cousin asked us "So when are you going to have kids". I said "We started last night". He said to me "I didn't want to know that!" I said "Why did you ask?"
Now I respond with "Practice makes perfect so we started practicing on our honeymoon. " People usually don't know what to say after that... If find a smart aleck answer is the best!

I love that answer - we aren't even married yet and many people asked if we are having children right away

Re: Already married girls...are you getting the "when are you having babies" question too?!?!?!
Nope...but already DH forgot that we agreed looooong ago that any sons would NOT be named after him (he's the second...should be the fourth, but his grandmother hated the middle name[he doesn't even know what it was] so she changed it, thus breaking the tradition that was started IMO). he has a cousin named the female version and my daughter's middle name is the female version...and my conversations with his mom go like this:
"BOB", my husband Bob said.....but then "BOB" your BOB/my son, said....
I told him and her that I don't anticipate the following conversation in 25-30 years:
BOB, my FIL, ....BOB my husband, BOB my son/your husband....why torture any future children or daughter-in-laws??? that and I'm not about to name the kid something and have to figure out a way to call him differently...DH gets called "BOB ERIC" and his father "BOB" but sometimes his mom forgets to add the middle name...thus the need for all the "my husbands, your BOB, my son" crap.
Sorry sweetie, but no IIIs in the future!!!

Hehe. This reminds me of my family. My grandmother believed that the first grandson (only grandson) should have the grandfather's name. So my poor aunt got so harassed for making my cousin a II. My grandmother said "Do you think I wanted to name my son xxxxx?" she was so irrational!!!

We're not getting the baby questions yet, just a lot of the house questions like when are you moving, how's the house hunting going, find anything yet. Ugh!

Re: Already married girls...are you getting the "when are you having babies" question too?!?!?!
Please! We stayed at the same hotel as my dad and step mom the night of the wedding and met them in the lobby for contintal breakfast and my dad says "SO, when are we going to get some grandkids?" Hello!?!? The reception had ended not even 12 hrs before! He's too funny!
Other than that, no one has asked, but they know we're not going to wait very long to start REALLY trying.

Constantly! Especially since we've been married for 3 years now.
I just tell people it is our decision and we will start trying once we're ready.
