NWR: I had an unexpected visitor in my car on the way home from work and.....
the stupid little mosquito has left me 23 bites between my two ankles....I am in such pain and I feel like i have tried EVERYTHING to make the itching stop....when it's just one I can ignore it...but 23 in such a small area....I can't handle it....
Look this is just ONE side of ONE of my ankles and you can see 8 squiter bites....

That was one violent mosquito!
Aveno makes a great anti-itch cream with oatmeal. I use it all the time.

Re: NWR: I had an unexpected visitor in my car on the way home from work and.....
last summer my friends and I rented a house in Carlsbad, CA for a week. 1 of my girlfriends woke up 1 morning with bites all over her legs. We were really grossed out to find that her bed was infested with fleas!!! Mind you, this was a really gorgeous house right on the beach and we were paying alot of money...turns out the people who had the house before us had a bunch of dogs with them. It still makes me itchy just thinking about it!!!!

I hate them!!!!!!
I'm sick (so I'm told) the only thing besides benadryl is to squeeze or scratch them open and put alcohol on them. Stops the itch immediately.

Love the itchy pens! I am so anti bug - I carry bug spray with me everywhere! I have some in each car and if I'm good stuff in my purse!
CURSE BUGS THAT MAKE US ITCH!!
Some alternative remedies that I found on my google search: "When you get a big mosquito bite, take a bar of soap and rub it on your mosquito bite. Don't wet the soap, just rub it on dry. Wash off any excess soap before you go to bed. This takes the itch and redness away from the mosquito bite and makes it look smaller."
"The best thing to use for Mosquito Bites is banana peels. Just rub the bite with the inside of the peel. The itch will stop immediately. I always keep them in the freezer, so they are always available. All the grandchildren are amazed at how quick this remedy works. When they do get a bite, they always come running and ask me for the banana peel from the freezer. They know I always keep them on hand. Why pay a high price for over-the-counter ointments and sprays for bug bites? You can have instant relief from a simple banana peel that ordinarily would have been thrown in the trash. Try this, it really works."
From ehow.com: Steps: 1. Wash the infected area with soap and water as soon as you recognize that you've been bitten. Try to keep the site clean and dry until the irritation abates. 2. Avoid scratching. Although a mosquito bite should itch for only a few days, continual scratching will increase your discomfort and may prolong the itching. 3. Make a paste of baking soda and water, using just enough water to make the paste sticky. Spread the mixture on the bites. 4. Rub soap directly on the bite. This is an oft-repeated home remedy for mosquito bites. 5. Apply an ice pack or ice wrapped in a washcloth to the bite area. 6. Use calamine lotion or a topical anesthetic containing pramoxine to help relieve pain and itching. 7. Purchase 1-percent hydrocortisone cream to alleviate the itching. Follow directions on the package for safe use. 8. Use an anti-inflammatory drug such as ibuprofen or naproxen to reduce any accompanying swelling or redness.

Re: NWR: I had an unexpected visitor in my car on the way home from work and.....
OMG- I feel your pain. We were doing some home improvements last weekend, and FH had the patio door open as he was going back and forth inside the house. I think a whole family of mosquitos got in because I have about 30 on my legs and arms. I've killed 3 of them in the house, but I know there's more lurking cause I keep getting bit. They itch so bad and the little X's aren't working. I hate these things!!!!
