Glen Cove Mansion
Help! I am so embarrassed and angry I don’t know what to do! I am not getting married there but was planning on using the Glen Cove Mansion for our guests the night of the wedding. Well actually the invites already went out suggesting it and advising that we would be providing shuttle buses to & from the reception (The Met). Anyway, they have had some management changes and I’m now on my 3rd contact person as I guess they all keep quitting! When I originally worked with them the guy told me there were still 185 of the 193 rooms available as nothing else was going on that weekend. So we didn’t do the room block (since you get stuck paying for the remaining) but instead did the rate block (which just gives the preferred rate). Anyway, my plan was to just keep checking in to see if the rooms started to go and if so do the room block. Well as you can guess my guy quit and the new girl never picks up her phone!! I leave her every number possible to get in touch with me and leave very detailed messages but she leaves me “sorry I missed you” messages back without giving me any info much less that she’ll leave the message on my work # after hours instead of calling my cell! Now here latest message just says, Hi, sorry there are no rooms left for that night!! And as par this this chic I call right back and get her voice mail… I am so embarrassed, I want to cry! I’m going to have to keep trying to get a hold of somebody to find out who booked rooms there and tell them to move to a new hotel?? I really just wanted to use them because everybody could hang out at the Pub after….Crap! Crap! Crap! Sorry so long!

Re: Glen Cove Mansion
That really stinks! Is there any way you could go down there in person?

Re: Glen Cove Mansion
Ok, I finally talked to somebody and they were basically sorry but all they could keep an eye out if rooms start to cancel. Um, hello?? Is that what I should be counting on?? How about if you called me back 3 weeks ago we wouldn't have this problem! I am so aggravated but what can I do. I'm just going to have to lamely spread the word that we will be staying somewhere else where there is no fun bar and pay more for shuttle buses to take us further. I hate, seriously hate the Glen Cove Mansion!

Re: Glen Cove Mansion
Sort of update...I need some good vibes!!
I spoke to the director and he was going to see if any of the other blocks are willing to give up some of their rooms. I just hope he's actually doing it & it works out! I just don't want to call everybody to explain and have to hire another shuttle bus to take us further.
Good vibes girls!!
I swear I will take back all my bad thoughts about the GCM if they help me out here!!

Good vibes going out to you!!
I'm having my wedding there and have had mixed feelings about them - but there are some really good people there! Have faith!

Re: Glen Cove Mansion
Im so sorry I know it's not the solution you want but how about going to another hotel and having cards made for the correction sent out. I know it's not what should happen but it may be your only solution. Good Luck!
