Bachelorette Party Drama (sorry long)

Since FH and I got engaged, his best man has planned his bachelor party. First they were going to go to Canada but my FH wasn't really into it. So then they planned a three day event (yankee game, dinner and drinking in the city, and then a BBQ at my dads house). When I told this to my bridal party in SEPTEMBER they talked about Paris ( ). But when no one did anything about it, it fell by the waist side, then I said that I would really like to go to SC because that is where all my college friends live and they would be able to go! Of course, then it became about money and timing and a bunch of crap. so then my sister (MOH) talked to me and we talked about Atlantic City. I said okay it's got gambling, beach, spas, shows, night life and it's close to home so we can drive there. Well, I write her an email and now she wants to get a mani/pedi, dinner and a show in the city (Urinetown). While that is a great day, it was not what i was looking for. I haven't cried over anything wedding related yet, but I started crying on the treadmill this morning at the gym. I wrote my sister an email this AM stating the above but I just hope it doesn't upset her. Thanks for letting me vent.

While I agree the dinner and a show is a great day if it had been suggested in the first place...but it is a far cry from PARIS!! I think you are dissapointed becuase it seems like your day keeps getting downgraded. Dont worry youlll have a great time. I think you got your hopes up and are now dissapointed in comparison...but youll have fun!!!!

Re: Bachelorette Party Drama (sorry long)

I know how you feel. My sister (MOH) and FSIL (BM) are planning my party. My FSIL is doing most of the leg work because my sister lives out of state. She also has better ideas. My sister does not agree with all of the ideas, which makes it a bit awkward. Like you, I don't want to upset my sister because she has put some work into this, but it's my bachelorette party. It's such a difficult conversation.

My bachelorette party turned into a mess, too- I completely understand where you're coming from.
I am soooo not an "all about me" gal, but I feel like everyone else comes before me on this one, and it's ummmm, MY bachelorette party?!?!?

You still have some time, why don't you plan it yourself. Thats what I'm going to do.

Re: Bachelorette Party Drama (sorry long)

I didn't even have a bachelorette party because one BM said she couldn't afford it, one BM didn't even bother coming to my shower, so that left my MOH and a BM. We ended up having a party at my house with the guys and girls in the BP. I still kind of wish I had a bachelorette party. You might want to plan this yourself, you know yourself the best and what will be the most fun! Good luck, i'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Maybe you can do that with your sister and any other local friends that can't travel... and then head to SC to visit your college friends and have a bach weekend there. Absolutely do what will make YOU happy.

Re: Bachelorette Party Drama (sorry long)

Thanks for all of your help and support. My sister (MOH) called me today after she read my email to her. she was awesome and had some of the same ideas you had come up with. we are going to work it out! At least I told her how I felt and she was able to be cool with it. My sister can get a bit of a temper sometimes. I cried two more times today over stupid things so I think I am going crazy or getting sick. Thanks for listening I really appreciate the feedback.

Just wanted to mention that Urinetown closed a while ago so you can get out of that part!
