Free (or cheap) & Fun Summer weekend activities on LI

I thought this might be a nice thread to start for us to think about fun dates with our FH/DHs....

Last year FH and I went to a state park in Baltimore and there were fireworks and a symphony orchestra -- it was wonderful....

wondering if there's stuff like that to do on LI that are hidden treasures that we don't all know about... any good fireworks stuff going on this summer?

I'll start

1) free concerts - Music Under the Stars - at John Burns park in Massapequa

2) http://www.jonesbeachevents.com/ - free concert series and dance lessons on the boardwalk

free concerts at Eisenhower park & you can walk around the duck pond there. Also there is a mini golf course and driving range there,and you could picnic there

Free Live music at least every weeknight at Smith Point Park. I know its also Lobster night on Mondays and Thursdays and parking is free after 5 or 6.

I saw other things at other local beaches Im going to check out.
