Are you still having trouble with them? Have you talked to someone else? It really does not seem right that you have to pay for the whole wedding even though you are giving them so much notice.

My fiance was previously engaged and had Jericho Terrace booked - he gave plenty of notice as well, but they really screwed him!! They told him the same thing about the date, but we were not able to get there on the date they had planned, so we do not even know if they booked it, they kept telling him it was not booked. I would make sure you or someone you know, goes there on the date and makes sure its not being used if you pay for it. If you have any questions, FM me and I will ask him more about it.

I'm sorry to hear about you and your fiance-but Jericho Terrace should not be giving you such a hard time. With over 15 months -it gives them plenty of time to rebook. This is HORRIBLE- I will never recommend Jericho Terrace to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about you and your fiance. You may want to look into the catering laws in Nassau County. I know in Suffolk, if you cancel with more than 6 mos notice, they have to give you your money back minus a $100 fee for processing or whatever. Definitely look into it. I'm so sorry again.

i am so sorry :*( unfortunately because its "technically" a breach of contract, they want their money...I have heard horror stories about this from a few other places too...My opinion still remains that the date is way over a year away & it's ridiculous that they're doing this to you. DEFINETLY state in all your bulletins that someone lets YOU know if they're booking that date - otherwise the hall can just hold it over your head and pretend like noone ever booked. I would post on theknot.com too....I am SURE that date will get booked....jericho terrace has wait lists for like the next 4years! Its just a matter of making sure they're telling you the truth. Good luck with everything & if I hear of any newly engaged couples who want a fall wedding I will send them your way! FM me if u need to talk! (or vent on the bulletins) we are all here for you!!!

I'm sorry you are going through this. I can't believe with well over a year to go they require you find a replacement. I booked my November 06 wedding in November 2005 and I had a lot of dates to choose from!!!! I will keep my eyes and ears open for you.
