has anyone ever ordered their dress from an online discount site?
I found the dress that I love but it is so much more cheaper if I buy it from the internet. Has anyone ever done this before or is it just better to shell out the extra money and buy the gown at a boutique? Thanks~!

Yes! gownfind.com Phyliss is great! I actually went to her home and she measured me however Phyliss now has a store on Jericho in Dixhills!

i got my wedding dress online at Bridesave.com and had a wonderful experience. They take returns and have great prices ( i got mine at about 1/2 of the bridal salon price)

Just say NO to houseofbrides.com!
Nightmare... The $50 saved did not equal the hours (and hours) of hold time to try to get a hold of someone! And when you do they can't help and in turn promise a call back that you never get...

I am also using Phyllis at gownfind.com.
She saved me over $200 from my RK Bridal quote!
I got awesome shoes from her for 40 bucks (110 at RK)
SHe is great!

I second that - I didn't discover them until after I bought my dress, but I ordered my BM dresses through them. They were cheaper, and incredibly fast, and the dresses were perfect. I highly recommend them.

I got my dress through RK Bridal's online/fax service, and I'd definitely recommend it. Their prices were incredible, their service was great and my dress came over a month early. You should check them out. I went to the store first and tried the dress on, then went and ordered it through their online service.

I just went to the store last night...It is called Bridal Elegance...(gownfind.com). We went there and my mom bought her dress, and my 3 bridesmaids bought theirs last night as well. Phyllis was very helpful and very nice. I recommend.
My girls save $89 on each of their dresses...and my mom saved a whopping $225 on her dress!!!

I haven't found my dress yet, but I did want to share a bargaining strategy with you all.
RK Bridal will beat a competitors price by 5% if you find your gown somewhere else. With this in mind, you can call Netbride (which I've used several times in coordinating my clients weddings), and ask them what price they can give you for the same gown. If it's cheaper (and it usually is), you call RK Bridal and tell them Netbride quoted you a cheaper price. They will beat it by 5% - so now your gown has dropped even more.
But the game doesn't end here. You then call Netbride once again and tell them that RK Bridal has beat the price by 5% and ask if they can beat THAT price. I know it seems like a lot of work, but trust me, it can save you more than several hundred dollars in the end. Everyone is competing for your business and there is always a way to find your dress cheaper.
I hope this helps and remember, ALWAYS NEGOTIATE ON EVERYTHING!!! It works!!
