credit card question
what vendors will let you charge? i mean i think every vendor makes you have a cash deposit, but can you charge the rest? we're probably gonna be charging most of the wedding only because we're paying for it ourselves mostly

Re: credit card question
That reminds me, I just charged $21,000 for my hall! My biggest charge ever! ... I wanted to earn the airline miles.
I think most take cc's for the deposit and 2nd payment if there is one. A lot of my vendors want the final payment in cash, on the wedding day.

Re: credit card question
I was able to charge deposits. The final payments need to be in cash.

Re: credit card question
Most of my vendors made me pay cash - I wanted to use CC for the 'protection' in case i had a problem with anyone and for the airline points. The casino that we booked let me charge it, but they charged me for the 3% fee they have to pay to the CC company, so it cost more to use the CC, but I was VERY nervous about this vendor because they are in NYC and I never actually MET them. Other than that, our rings, our honeymoon, our invites, favors, my dress DEPOSIT, my veil and all the DIY stuff I'm doing.
I know you've heard it before but just be careful, we're paying ourselves, too, but we only charged stuff we had the money for in the bank. We are expecting to get zero in gifts, which we know we'll get somethng, we just don't want to count on it.

Re: credit card question
Be very very careful using CC for the wedding. It might not seem like a big deal, but at 17% and up interest, a 20K wedding ultimately could cost double. If you are using a CC make sure you have money in the bank to pay the bill in full when it comes in. Thus far I have only used CC to buy DIY stuff at AC Moore etc. I want to have a zero balance when I get on the plane for the HM. Since we are headed overseas I want to take advantage of the exchange rate you get when using a CC.
