aruba vs turks & caicos

i booked our honeymoon a few months ago. we're supposed to spend 6 nights in turks & caicos and 6 nights in disney. it was tough when it came to the islands because we're going mid-october and want to steer clear of hurricanes! lately all i've been hearing is great things about aruba and i am starting to wonder if i should switch turks for aruba. we put money down but the actual tickets aren't purchased yet - we have until the end of the month; so i doubt switching the place would be a problem. any ideas from anyone who has been to either place? pros/cons of each? and if aruba, we are looking for an all inclusive - any suggestions?
TIA

Re: aruba vs turks & caicos

We went to Aruba last year and had the best time. It is so beautiful there and they are not affected by hurricanes. They also ALWAYS have great weather. We were there in August and the weather was perfect, not at all humid or stuffy. There were tons of places to eat and they totally catered to honeymooners. We were not there on a honeymoon and they were still amazing to us.

We had dinner on the beach and watched little red crabs wander on the shore and ate at several incredible restaurants. The sun is strong, so I would recommend LOTS of sunblock, but otherwise there are no drawbacks!

it is a guarantee perfect vacation....I have never been to Your other choice but I would ask someone who has experience visiting both places. I still vote for Aruba! We are going back there again in the winter and taking FH's parents!

Re: aruba vs turks & caicos

ive been to aruba (not on a HM but still) and weather was perfect. its below the hurricane belt so for that reason i would recommend it during hurricane season. its a fabulous island, i had an amazing time there, and ive never met a person who went there and didnt have a great time.

however i also would LOVE to go to turks and caicos. its much closer to florida so thats less flying time, and its supposedly quite unspoiled (think bahamas out-islands). since i havent been there i cant give a side-by-side review, but similarly ive never heard a bad thing. from what i remember turks and caicos was more expensive than aruba, but i planned my aruba trip 2 years ago so it may be different now.

due to hurricane season i would say go with aruba.. when it comes down to it either one will probably make a lovely HM destination and i dont think you'll regret your choice either way.

duh i almost forgot to add my review. we stayed at la cabana beach resort all inclusive. its a timeshare place so we had a whole suite with a bedroom, bath, living, and kitchen. it was excellent and fairly low priced. no timeshare sells either. all inclusive was good not great. had a nice little tapas restaurant that we frequented.
im sure for a HM you could get an even nicer room, and the price is def reasonable. overall i think for an HM you could prob stay somewhere more luxurious and less "family oriented", but i figure id give u a bit of insite anyway. good luck!
