Friday vs. Saturday-Opinions
We recently booked our wedding for a Friday night(August 2,2002). From the start my fiance has had some doubts about a Friday night wedding, and we are thinking of switching to Saturday night.I just want an evening wedding, and I would be happy w/ either night. His family lives on the island(with the exception of some in NJ and Italy), and I live upstate. My guests would be the main travelers, and they don't mind traveling. What do you guys think? As you all know from your own planning there is a considerable price difference. We could swing the Saturday night, but feel the money would be better spent on a honeymoon or a house.

Friday vs. Saturday-Opinions
If I could offer my advice...not that a honeymoon isn`t special or important, but I recommend putting the money toward a house. As for the Friday/Saturday debate. It would probably be easier for everyone on Saturday, especially your traveling guests. But I totally understand the money part. Have you considered a Sunday evening? Then people wouldn`t have to rush to get out of work or anything and the travelers have time to get into town. However, they may feel rushed to get back for Monday. It`s a tough call. Try to weigh the pros and cons and go with what feels right (or most right) to both of you.

I'm getting married on a Friday night. My reception doesn't start til 8 so hopefully everyone can get there easily. There was just no way I was going to pay that kind of money just to have a sat. instead of fri. Don't get me wrong sat. weddings are great but I couldn't afford the extra money!

Friday vs. Saturday-Opinions
If your out of town guests will be able to
make the Friday night wedding without too
much trouble, then I'd keep it on friday and
save the $$$$. But if they'd have to take
off extra time from work and it seems as though
it would be difficult for them, then I'd move
it to saturday. THose are just my two cents!
Good luck with your decision.

Friday vs. Saturday-Opinions
I am having my wedding on a Friday night. There was a significant cost difference however the main reason
we chose Friday instead of Saturday was the minimum. The minimum for Friday night is 125 while the minimum for
Saturday is 175. That was a huge difference. Have you taken that in to consideration also?
I would go with whatever you feel best about.

Heather - We are doing Friday * 9-14-01. I really wanted Sat at first and was disapointed because everyplace we liked was booked. Now that I have gotten used to the idea I am very happy about it. We have a lot of guests traveling from out of town. This will give us all day Sat to relax and spend some time with the out of town quests. We leave for our honeymoon on Sunday.

Friday vs. Saturday-Opinions
we are doing friday night as well in july. everything is less expensive on friday (hall, band, limo, photographer.) i think it is becoming the trend! if people want to be there for the ceremony they will no matter what day it is. from what i understand some guests don`t come to the ceremony regardless. it is a personal preference, but we wanted to enjoy the rest of the weekend and not be rushed on sunday to leave for the honeymoon. friday night also allows the guests to enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Friday vs. Saturday-Opinions
We're having our wedding on a Friday, August 10, 2001. Saturday was just too costly for us. A lot of people get off work early or are more willing to take off from work on a Friday during the summer. Also, if you have people from out of town, they can make a whole vacation out of it and stay over the weekend. We haven't had anyone complain yet.

heather- I think you should go for the friday night wedding. My fiance and I struggled with a Saturday night or Friday night wedding and we decided for a July 4th (thursday night) wedding. If some of the guests can't make it then it's their loss. You have to do what's going to make you happy!!! Good luck. Janine

Friday vs. Saturday-Opinions-Thank you!
Wow, I can't believe how much these posts have been exactly in tune w/ what my fiance and I have been saying!I also think more people would be open to taking off/leaving early in the summer, and we love the idea of spending the day after visiting w/ out of town guests. Thanks to all who took the time to give me their opinions.-Heather
