Riviera Maya Honeymooners

Hey ladies....

For those who have been, can anyone give some good recommendations as far as Must Sees and Don't Dos? We're staying at the Aventura Spa Palace, and we're nervous about the water - are frozen drinks and ice cubes OK, or should we stick with Coronas and stay clear?

Any feedback would help!

Re: Riviera Maya Honeymooners

I was there in March and we just stayed clear of food and water and ice outside of the resorts. On the resort or if you are on a resort sponsored tour, you will have no problem. Don't worry about ice cubes or frozen drinks since all of the resort water is filtered.

Your resort is gorgeous. We stopped there a few times to pick people up for tours.

Congrat's!

Re: Riviera Maya Honeymooners

If you have never been there, and you like this sort of stuff, take a day trip to Chichen Itza - an ancient Mayan pyramid. Xcaret is also a great day trip.

Re: Riviera Maya Honeymooners

I would recommend staying away from drinks like pina colada because of the coconut milk in them... I think the water issue is a bigger deal in Dominican Republic, we have been there twice without any problems... take Pepto with you just in case...

Re: Riviera Maya Honeymooners

Stay away from the water in any form!!

I was having the frozen mixed drinks at my resort, and while they said the water was filtered, I got hit with Montezuma's Revenge anyway!!!

(Although I did make the mistake of drinking water in the restaurant the first night, so that too could have been the culprit!)

Re: Riviera Maya Honeymooners

we stayed there (aventrua spa palace) on our honeymoon we did not stay away from anything like food or water. we sooo want to go back to this place. the food is awsome the activities are good. we have been to mexico before so we didnt go on any sight seeing trips. but the last time we were there we went snorkling at the national coral reef. if you go to where the trips are to sign up they will tell you which ones are worth going too.

have fun everyone going there you will have a fantasic time drink lots of miami vices!!!! also arrange for massages while you are there. also dont miss the special perks you get when you are honeymooners!!!!!!!!
