Dumb Music Question because I am bored
Are you going to have your DJ play more of a club mix (what we listen to) or more of a dance mix (electric slide)?

Re: Dumb Music Question because I am bored
That's kind of a trick question for me, because I really don't listen to "club mix" type music... and while I don't listen to the electric slide for fun either, I think the music I listen to regularly would probably fall more into "dance mix" category than "club mix."
If that makes sense.

Re: Dumb Music Question because I am bored
It def makes sense. Not that I have the electric slide on my ipod or anything I just think it's an example of more group dances. I don't know!!!! I just want everyone to dance and be happy

Re: Dumb Music Question because I am bored
I'm thinking I'll have things change over the course of the night. I'll start with the classic 70's and 80's pop, even some older stuff that the older crowd likes. As the night goes on I'll have him move to the 80's and 90's pop that still isn't too harsh. But by the last hour I'll probably have him move to the hip hop and Z100 type dance music for the younger crowd. I figure most of the really old people will leave by then anyway - it's a 7-12 reception.
I won't allow any chicken dance or electric slide type stuff though. I really hate those songs! But I'm sure I'll have some other cheesy stuff

Re: Dumb Music Question because I am bored
Kinda hard to answer that one. I'm not a big fan of "organized dances" like YMCA, macarena, electric slide, etc. Then again, when I think of club music, I think of techno type stuff........which we def will not have. We want top 40 type stuff, and a mix of all other types.......Bon Jovi, Sinatra, 50's stuff for parents, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's music, etc.

Re: Dumb Music Question because I am bored
I really want to make sure that everyone has a good time, so I want a big mix of music. FH and I are country music fans, but obviously a lot of people don't like country. So, we are going to play a few of our favorites, some oldies for the parents and then some dance kind of music. I am leaving it up to my DJ to put together a great mix. Oh, and there will be NO electric slide! haha.
