Bridal Shower invite question???

I'm having 2 MOH's (simply because I have 2 BF's and can't pick between them... anyway, they don't have a lot $$$ because one's still in school and has a p-t job and the other one just doesn't make a lot of $ to begin with. In order to cut down on the cost of the bridal shower (which they're throwing for me) I told them to nix inviting kids to it and they both thought it was a great idea, feeling that they didn't belong there - especially, since the ones that would be coming do not behave at all! So, my question is - how can they state it on the invite?

Bridal Shower invite question???

Address the invitation to who you want to invite - Mrs. Mary Smith. That is clear to me. If you wanted her child to come you would say Mrs. Mary Smith and Susie Smith. Of course, there are those who assume their children are invited even if they are not addressed on the invitation, but that is another story.

Bridal Shower invite question???

Yes, that is another story. My poor mom is being put on the spot of his family asking to bring their kids. Do they even think that maybe the bride doesnt want any kids there never mind the host of the shower.

Bridal Shower invite question???

For my shower they wrote on the invitation something to the affect of "Ladies only please." Even though they wrote that we had two people call (of a potential 15) about bringing the kids. One woman showed up with her kid even though we had asked her not to when she called. Needless to say, I am one china setting short now....the mother was dumb enough to put it in the year and a half year old's hands!!!! Crash......AHHHH!!!! Now that I vented, you will have people who call but that "Ladies only" helped.

Bridal Shower invite question???

OMG - that's horrible! Thanks for the help though!!! =) I'll tell them to write something to that effect! I know my FH's family's gonna be po'ed though because of this... but, I feel like it's going to totally take the idea of a relaxing get-to-gether down the tubes!

Yes, right to the point. Wish candy, if they are upset and you have it the way you want it then that is all that matters.

Maybe we should all include a photocopy of the etiquette paragraph about bring little ones to grown up events! So rude. And that women should have to replace any china her child broke!

My Bridal Shower invite

I have seen adult reception put for bridal invites.. but adult shower sounds somewhat dirty.. so I dunno My shower was given by my girls, people RSVP to either my MOH's work number or one of my bridesmaids's work number, so no real sticky situtions.. Once again another reason for a suprise shower, I had no idea about any problems.. :)
