How much time should I allow for reception hall appts?
Just curious if you have an idea of how much time I will be spending at each place. Sunday is our first time looking at a few halls and I have 3 I want so see (2 in the same area) and was wondering how much time I should allow between each appointment. Do you think 3 is too much?
THANKS!

I would say space them out 2 hours apart. Depending on how talkative you and the sales people are they can take 1-1 1/2 hours.

Yeah, if they are close though, you can probably go with 1 hour 'cus unless you are in love with the place, you're not booking them immediately. So you're not gonna need the full hour with them.
I book 3 one day once, and had to call the later appointments to tell them I'm coming in early 'cus it took me 15 minutes with the first one, and 30 mins with second.

Re: How much time should I allow for reception hall appts?
We just did a bunch and they went anywhere from an hour to 2 and a half hours. At one place they let us do a tasting and sevrved us drinks-it was really nice. The places that rush you I would be leary about-they should want to take their time and show you everything-

Re: How much time should I allow for reception hall appts?
Three isn't too much, just take good notes (afterwards some of the stuff might blend together).
My meetings took about an hour each, some a little less. My first appt was at 10 in Smithtown, then the next one was at 11:30 in Woodbury, then the next one was at 1pm in Hauppauge, then the last one at 4 in Farmingdale and I got to every one of them on time (based on their availability that was the best I could do).

Re: How much time should I allow for reception hall appts?
When I went to the catering halls, I was about an hour at each one. I only went to 2 of them, but both were about an hour.

Re: How much time should I allow for reception hall appts?
An hour for each is good. For the place that I actually booked, it took about an hour and half, we saw a video, sampled food and had a drink. When I saw places that really didn't suit us, it only took about 30 minutes max.

Schedule them 2 hours apart so you have more than enough time to travel inbtw from place to place - if you are a little early for your apt they usually see you right away anyway

Re: How much time should I allow for reception hall appts?
You could def. do 3 places in the day. The longest I spent at one place was a little over an hour. Everywhere else was probably about 1/2 an hour - 45 min. I would probably space them maybe 1 1/2 -2 hrs. apart. If you get out early, you can always call the next place and see if you could come a little early. We did that for a few places w/out a problem. Good luck!!
