I can't believe this!!! [kinda long]
Today FH and I were supposed to meet our officiant to go over our vows..and basically just meet, since I booked him about two months ago over the phone.
I called him yesterday to remind him of our appointment for today at 530pm. He asked if we could make it 6:00pm. Fine, no problem.
Well we get to his house at 5:50, knock on the door..no answer. We go back to the car and FH calls him at 6:00pm. He tells FH he is at a last minute wedding in NASSAU COUNTY. [we live in Patchogue and his house where we were at is in Selden!]. He says he is leaving the wedding in 10 mins and asks if we can wait.
UM NO YOU ARE AN HOUR AWAY!!!
I mean, if you're leaving in 10 mins from Nassau to drive to Selden, then obviously you KNOW you are going to be at least an hour late. YOU CAN'T CALL???!!
I cannot believe this. I mean I heard of florists standing brides up, or dj's or photographers but OFFICIANTS?!?!
I'm mad! I have absolutely no time in June to do any meeting or planning as I'm traveling for work.
HOW RUDE!!

That is TOTALLY rude!! I don't get it - I HAVE heard of it with DJs and hair/makeup and florists - what is so hard about CALLING to say you're running late?? I'm with you - you deserve a

What if he does that on your wedding day? That does not sound very reliable or professional

well if it makes you feel any better i called 3 people already to do my wedding ( i know it is next year but i do realize it is a holiday so i figured i would give them ample time) well ALL 3 so far told me (exact words now) 'oh no i can't i will be on vacation its a holiday'
so i am waiting for this 4th to pass to try some other people.
so i am sorry to hear about what happened to you but believe me i know how disappointed you felt.

I don't know!!! He just didn't! So we went there for nothing pretty much. There was no way in hell I was waiting another hour for him when he didn't even call me in the first place to tell me he was going to be late.
