Wording on Engagement Party Invites

My FH parents are throwing the E party and we have to pick out the invitations.

Any suggestions on appropriate wording?

hmm, so your parents aren't paying for any part of it?? my parents paid a smaller amount than FH's parents but can't put 30% mine 70% them lol so we just put:

Given with love by their parents

at the bottom of the invite...

if your parents didn't pay anything than i would write:

given with love by john and jane doe

Yah his parents wanted to pay for the party itself and my parents wanted to pay for somethign so they are paying for the DJ.

Mr. & Mrs. Patrick Ferraro cordially invited you to the engagement party

but do my parents names go on it at all?
like," daughter of ...."

or is that to wedding-ish?

We did a little poem, & then at the end we added, Given by the brides parents ... this was it ,,


He came to her on bended knee
with a single long stemmed rose.

All of our parents gave us our engagement party so we thought instead of listing names (which we r doing for the wedding) we would just put what we did.

OK let me try and help you out more now that i understand the situation a little better:

we didn't do the whole cordially thing b/c we wanted it to be more low-key since it's just the e-party and not the wedding. so the little rhymes that some of the girls put are a great idea! they are really cute...

and then Please Reply by June 1st to Patricia (my mom-- b/c traditionally regardless of who is paying for what the RSVPs go to the bride's parents or just mom if you want)... so I just put her name, they are going to know it's not vinny's parents b/c her name is not Patricia and i didnt need to put a last name b/c my last name is on the envelope-- they will just call and ask for patricia... etc and that's it-- we had a lady that owned the invite shop we got them from explain everything to us and the best way to do it....
