OMG ladies crazy furniture!! (NWR)
::::a little LONG but HELPFUL!!::::
So FH and I decided (on a whim) to clean out our entire living space and make it "ours". Before it was all second-hand stuff that we didn't even like and it was so cluttered. So we said we'll paint it and invest some money in nice furniture that we can have for a while and take to other places once we get our house after the wedding (uh oh, $$)....
Well, once we cleaned out everything we realized we have a TON of space to fill up. This was Saturday, what a day-- exhausting!!
Sunday: we go to the JC Penney home store and OMG: we got a table with six chairs (2 were free with the order), this one can be kitchen or dining b/c it has a leaf that you can take out. We also got a coffee table, end table, and a big hutch for my grandmother's china and our nice stuff from our registry. I mean, it was CRAZY how cheap this stuff was BUT made so well, it wasn't cheaply made AT ALL!!
Plus, the salesperson was so helpful and took her time with us. We signed up for the deferred payment plan (why not? no payments for a year unless we want to). FYI: the home store is COMPLETELY different from the clothing store, they have really quality furniture and name brand too...
So then yesterday (we are crazy!!) we go to Homegoods and Pottery Barn for accessories. OMG girls amazing stuff and CHEAP. PB has a ton of specials going on right now and Homegoods is just amazing. B/W the two stores we got two rugs, shelves for pics, a painting, candles and sconces, candlesticks, a mirror, omg etc etc etc!!! We had to bring the SUV to take it all out of those two places...
So if any of you girls out there are looking for some nice stuff... give the JC Penney Home Store in Lake Grove a try (speak to Pat--she's a riot!!) or try Homegoods and PB. I couldn't believe how much we bought LOL but it's all worth it, we are in the process of putting our place together with everything (the big stuff still has to be delivered) and it looks so nice!!! We are so happy to finally have a space to call our own and it feels that way because those are OUR things. I don't know if anyone else can relate to this but it's the best feeling in the world!! I almost got like, choked up when we were placing everything b/c it looks amazing and I can't believe it's ours!
Happy tears though!! I really hope this helps some of you out there who are just like me and looking for some good deals!! Sorry it's so long but we had quite a weekend... I had to vent (in a good way) about all that we did and I HAD to let everyone in on the good deals!!

you are all so welcome!! i hope it helps anyone who is in need of a nice place for furniture...
also i had to write about everything we did b/c i still can't believe it!!! and all in one weekend too-- my goodness it was pretty crazy!!
but we are so happy with it and it's the best feeling for those of you who are not yet there-- when you do, you will LOVE it. it's the nicest thing to have something that's "yours" and not just yours alone-- but you and FH's together!!

thank-you so much!!! i can't wait to go home from work today and stare at the pottery barn boxes that i never had a need for before b/c i never had a place of my own!!!!
i love those boxes!!! we left with bags from there and FH always insists on holding all the bags when we go shopping, so cute, but this time i wanted to hold them b/c they were PB!!!
LOL i'm so bad!!! but i can't help myself
