Catholic Brides - Pre-Cana BEFORE FOCCUS

Quick question for Past Brides and/or Brides to be....

FI and I are taking Pre-Cana thru the Diocese and FOCCUS thru my church. However something came up and we have to change the date of FOCCUS.

It's not a problem that Pre-Cana will be happening before FOCCUS, is it?

I don't think so - but I just wanted some reassurance.

Its this extra meeting - it has a test u need to take I heard about how u feel on issues - and then u gotta compare your answers to your FI's answers. Something like that lol?

FOCCUS is not required by all parishes in the diocese. from what i hear it seems to be more popular in Suffolk parishes rather than Nassau parishes for some reason. I did hear that the results of your FOCCUS test helps gauge the issues that you should be addressing at Pre Cana and/or "sets the stage" for your Pre Cana... but don't quote me on that.... I don't have to do the FOCCUS with my parish.

i don't think it matters as long as both are completed prior to the wedding date...one has nothing to do with the other. the FOCCUS test is basically a compatibility test to see what issues you agree and disagree on. then you review the results with someone from the Church but nothing is brought up at Pre cana. it's 2 separate entities.

I don't think it matters. They told us at Pre-Cana that we should look into doing FOCCUS, but since it's not a requirement they did not spend any time on it. I think you should be fine.

It's no problem....we did pre cana already and don't have FOCCUS for another month.

me and FH took the FOCCUS on sat and it was a piece of cake about 150 questions....dont worry im sure itll be fine

FH took Focus before pre cana...but don't think it matters in what order you do it.

Focus is really easy...however some of the questions are a bit odd...i.e. "How important is a sexual relationship in your marriage?" and another "Do you have homosexual feelings?"

FH and I laughed the whole time!

it's not a big deal. my church recommends that you take it before starting pre-cana but it's not required before. there is a couple in my pre-cana class that hasn't taken it yet and they aren't getting any problems about it.

y church messed us up and we did precana first. we are actually done with it we finished march 19th and our FOCCUS test is this tues

im not sure....we too the Foccuss back in February....we have not taken our pre-cana classes yet.....but i dont think its a problem since you are taking the precana classes through the dioceses since its different than the parish . right?

We took the FOCCUS , but haven't gone to the class to discuss the results yet. We are going to do our Pre-Cana in NC where we live and they don't require it. It doesn't seem to matter.....

(we laughed through a lot of it also...the priest left us alone while we took it and we kept saying "look at question __, haha")
