FMIL another vent! I am sooo mad!
I hate her. that is it, I said it! I really do! Ok, she finally went to look at dresses yesterday. Do you know what she told me as she was getting ready to go shopping... that she HATES how all the stores show the dresses in sizes 12 and 14 because she just SWIMS in those dresses and how they are all sooo Matrinly. She went on and on about how she has to try on the dresses OVER her clothing because she is SO small! She said how she still wants a little jacket though to wear with the dress, that she will "take off after she has had a few drinks". Then she had the never to say "I assume your mom is going to want to wear a jacket" (b!tch!). Now, just so you all know, my mom is a 12! They have met! And yet she had to go on and on about how small she is. And she made fun of larger people and I was really hurt. I hate her hate her hate her! Then told me they measured her and she is a SIZE TWO PETITE which she had to mention at least times and how they will make her dress as TIGHT AS SHE WANTS IT! Oh and here is the kicker -- that I am BIGGER than her!
She just can't shut her mouth. She does not have ONE friend, no one to invite to the wedding not ONE friend. No wonder why. I told my FH that I was hurt but what she was saying about size 12 people and he hasn't spoken to me since. OH and she bought a dress a DOODY brown dress for my wedding at the end of JULY during the DAY. And it doesn't match my color scheme AT ALL. all my bms are wearing champagne and taup and my flowers are in champagnes and peaches and corals! She is going to clash in that ridiculous doody color. I am LIVID. Couldn't sleep. Sorry, needed to vent!!!

OMG! That's just RUDE!!! She's just a RUDE person - you have to accept it and not take anything she says to heart. Just be happy you didn't have to grow up with a mom like that! People can be SO insensitive about weight, it's disgusting!
now... why isn't your FH talking to you?

Awh sorry hunny. Sounds like her tiny petite body is all she has going for her so she needs to focus on it at all times. She sounds like a child. Please don't let her bother you that much she is such a small part of YOUR day. I don't think brown really clashes with champagne either. Unless you want it to then it does 
My question is why is your FH not speaking to you?????

No... OMG. A train? For all her "friends" to see? What is THAT?!
I would say "why would your FH be upset about saying how you felt?" - but I got into a major argument with my FH about his family a few weeks ago. I learned that I either have to CAREFULLY word what I am upset about... or just sweep it under the carpet if it's not THAT important in the grand scheme of things. Family issues with the wedding just weren't WORTH not speaking to the guy I was marrying! That was the ultimate in irony.
Can you have a calm conversation with his mom? Did you say you weren't happy with the color choice or the fact that there's a train on it? Would you feel at all comfortable saying that?
When she does come out with a size/weight comment, you can just say "What is that supposed to mean?" - just to throw her off and make her feel uncomfortable. It's not fair that she doesn't have to be at ALL accountable for her actions.

 omg that's absolutely hilarious and awful all at the same time....
now back to her B!itchiness....that's just awful.
i am a size 0 (though my wedding dress is a 6) and my mom is small like me (though she's gained some weight as she's gotten older...but she's still cute and little) meanwhile, FMIL is a bit um, not so thin....but NEVER has my mom pointed that out NOR would she. And FMIL has never said snarky things about thin(ner) people either....i'm soooooo sorry your FMIL is such a bitter, mean person. your FH needs to reevaluate that whole "discussion" b/c that's atrocious behavior for someone's mother.
there's NOTHING wrong with a size 12...in fact, it's the average size of the american woman! i consider myself a bit freaky at a 0 (i just am a bit naturally thinner...i don't diet...i'm too lazy) and wish i could pack on 20-30 pounds b/c honestly, i am cold all the dang time.....20-30 pounds would keep me nice and toasty...i know this b/c several years ago i was heavier and i loved it....i was never cold, i almost had a butt and i could wear any style of clothing...now i have to say no to sexy tops cause i have no boobs!!
ignore her from now on and know that on your wedding day, she gets to look stupid in her size 2 petite doody brown dress avec train. (and marvel further in the fact that you'll look great!!!)

I have a FMIL just like her....still hasn't gotten a dress (she's waiting to see if there is still going to be a wedding!)
The only satisfaction you can have is she will look ridiculous in pictures and at the event...cause she wanted to be different (and it will show!)
As for your Fh, i have leared that the -in-law talks are tricky. Regardless of what theses crazy moms do, they will always get defensive for them cause that's their mom. Thank god she isn't your mom and you didn't have to desl with her growing up. Have brief encounters with her!

She sounds horrible and insensitive and just awful! Its sad that people have to be so mean just b/c they may be miserable.
As for your FH not talking to you - that will hopefully get better. I know when I have problems with FMIL, FH gets all defensive. People told me taht would change over time as he realize WE are now a team and a family, and it has - last time FMIL was a *itch (Friday:)) - he started to back me up and realize how insane she can be. So don't worry - it'll get better.
You are beautiful and your wedding will be beautiful!

Sweetie this just shows you that class can not be bought. No matter how skinny, pretty, or whatever she think she is, she'll never be classy. And what a perfect color to match her personality. Let her stand at the end of all the pics, that way you can just cut her and her s*** brown dress out.
