NWR: Question regarding old friends
It's been 4 years now since I saw my old friends. There was a group of us but there was one friend in particular that I miss the most.. I don't know why really b/c it takes two to keep a friendship going. She was the type of girl that was very shallow and into materialistic things. Always shopping at the Miracle mile, every conversation used to always be so superficial with her.. I thought I could trust her and we would grow close.. we did at one time but I always felt pressured to be her friend b/c I always felt like I had to hardly eat in order to fit in with her and the friends she had b/c they were the type of girls that were thin and beautiful always wore and still do, Brand name clothing, etc... I guess that's why I let the friendship go, but all in all when we went out, she was alot of fun.. I love nice things too, but as I have grown I will not go out and buy a 200-300 dollar pair of sunglasses anymore I think that's so stupid now. I miss her sometimes. I spoke to another friend recently and found out from her that this other girl I'm speaking of, got engaged about 4 months ago to this guy she had been dating before we lost touch with each other.. Now for some reason I find myself thinking about giving her a call and trying to get close with her again.. b/c I do miss her I just am hoping maybe she matured and she is no longer so shallow. Then again, I'm thinking you know she has my number still she could call me too! I don't know.. should I give her a call or just let the past be and forget about her and the old friends?

You can do either two things...... take time to call her and figure out how she is, then say goodbye and let her take the next step. Or you can not do anything and be curious forever. I'd take the 20 minutes or so that it would take just to call her. You can always let the friendship go again if she is the same old story :)

Re: NWR: Question regarding old friends
I think you should call her if you miss her. She may be missing you too and feeling nervous/afraid/weird about calling. It's ok to take the first step. If after speaking with her, you decide you don't want to speak to her again..then don't. But I think taking the time out to give her a call shows how mature you are and it's quite possible she has changed and is a bit more mature now herself.
